On World Cancer Day, we recognize that the best medicine is the one a patient can actually access.

For many, the gap between diagnosis and recovery is the cost of treatment. Recent policy interventions, including GST reforms and Budget 2026 measures are closing that gap, ensuring life-saving medicines reaches those who need them the most.

At the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance, we are committed to an ecosystem where affordability drives access and access saves lives.

About IPA

The Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) was established in the year 1999 in Mumbai. IPA represents research-based National Pharmaceutical Companies in India. The IPA works closely with the Government on policy-related matters and seeks to imbibe the experiences of the generic pharmaceutical industry internationally. It is also partnering with the Government in the evolution of a patent regime and up-gradation of the regulatory regime in India.

It consists of 24 member companies. IPA accounts for over 85 percent of the private sector investment in pharmaceutical research and development. We contribute more than 80 percent of the country's exports of drugs and pharmaceuticals and service over 57 percent of the domestic market.
