_*Bhonsale College of Pharmacy Celebrates 'World Pharmacist Day' — Shripad Kulkarni Honored as ‘Pharmacist of the Year’.....*_

_Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy celebrated World Pharmacist Day today with great enthusiasm. The event featured creative competitions such as Pharma Logo, Pharma Slogan, and Pharma Rangoli, showcasing students’ talent and innovation. The highlight of the day was the presentation of the ‘Pharmacist of the Year’ award to Shripad Kulkarni of Devgad, whose family has dedicated over seventy years to serving the community through pharmacy._

_Chief Guest Shashikant Yadav, Assistant Commissioner (Food & Drug Administration), Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of integrity and advanced education in pharmacy. He appealed students to become skilled professionals without shortcuts, emphasizing that medicine is a life-saving element. In his address, Shripad Kulkarni highlighted honesty, integrity, and discipline as key qualities for pharmacists. He said, “In rural areas with limited healthcare, pharmacists serve as a crucial link. The trust of the people is the greatest honor. This award is the result of our family’s dedicated service.”_

_Anand Rasam, President of the Sindhudurg District Chemist and Druggist Association, noted that the day is celebrated jointly by the association and the college to promote social initiatives and strengthen community engagement. Executive Chairman Achyut Sawant-Bhonsale expressed hope that students would draw inspiration from senior pharmacists like Shripad Kulkarni to become responsible professionals._

_Dr.Vijay Jagtap, Principal of the college, emphasized the institution’s commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and its decade-long contribution to the field. Satyajit Sathe, Principal of D.Pharmacy, spoke on the growth of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and India’s leadership in medicine exports and vaccine production. A commemorative release marked the college’s ten-year milestone._

_The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Adv. Asmita Sawantbhonsale, Chairperson of BKC, administrative coordinator sunethra Phatak, Kulkarni ’s wife and grand daughter, chemist association members, and faculty. The program was organized by Prof. Ankita Nevgi and Dr. Prashant Mali, with Prof. Gauri Bhivsheth as the anchor._

_*देवगडचे श्रीपाद कुलकर्णी ‘फार्मासिस्ट ऑफ द इयर’ - प्रामाणिक योगदानाचा गौरव....*_

_यशवंतराव भोसले कॉलेज ऑफ फार्मसीमध्ये जागतिक फार्मासिस्ट दिन आज मोठया उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. फार्मा लोगो, फार्मा स्लोगन, फार्मा रांगोळी अशा विविध स्पर्धांनी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या कल्पकतेला वाव मिळाला. कार्यक्रमाचे मुख्य आकर्षण ठरलेला 'फार्मासिस्ट ऑफ द इयर' पुरस्कार यावर्षी देवगड येथील ज्येष्ठ फार्मासिस्ट श्रीपाद कुलकर्णी यांना प्रदान करण्यात आला. सत्तर वर्षांहून अधिक काळ त्यांचे कुटुंब फार्मसी व्यवसायाच्या माध्यमातून देवगडवासियांची सेवा करत आहे._

_कार्यक्रमाला प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून रत्नागिरी व सिंधुदुर्गचे सहाय्यक आयुक्त (अन्न व औषध प्रशासन) शशिकांत यादव उपस्थित होते. त्यांनी भारतीय औषध उद्योग, देशातील वैद्यकीय व्यवस्था आणि फार्मासिस्ट समुदायाची जबाबदारी यावर भाष्य केले. “औषध हे जीवन वाचवणारा घटक आहे, त्यामुळे फार्मासिस्टने कोणताही शॉर्टकट न वापरता प्रामाणिकपणे उच्च शिक्षण घेऊन या क्षेत्रात तज्ज्ञ होणे गरजेचे आहे,” असे आवाहन त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना केले. श्रीपाद कुलकर्णी यांनी आपल्या मनोगतात सांगितले, “सचोटी, प्रामाणिकपणा आणि शिस्त हे गुण फार्मासिस्टसाठी अत्यावश्यक आहेत. अनेक ग्रामीण भागांत जेथे वैद्यकीय सेवा अपुरी पडते, तेथे फार्मासिस्ट हा उपचाराचा महत्त्वाचा दुवा ठरतो. लोकांचा विश्वास हाच खरा सन्मान. आज मिळालेला पुरस्कार हा आमच्या कुटुंबाने केलेल्या प्रामाणिक सेवेचे फळ आहे.”_

_सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्हा केमिस्ट व ड्रगिस्ट असोसिएशनचे अध्यक्ष आनंद रासम म्हणाले, गेल्या दहा वर्षांपासून आमची संघटना व कॉलेज संयुक्तपणे हा दिन साजरा करत आहे. या माध्यमातून विविध सामाजिक उपक्रमांचे आयोजन करणे आणि समाजाशी फार्मासिस्टचा सशक्त संवाद घडवणे हेच आमचे उद्दिष्ट आहे. कॉलेजचे कार्याध्यक्ष अच्युत सावंत-भोसले यांनी संस्थेचा विचार स्पष्ट करताना सांगितले, आदर्श फार्मासिस्ट कसा असावा याची विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रत्यक्ष जाणीव व्हावी आणि अशा आदर्श व्यक्तींचे गुण त्यांनी अंगीकारावेत, यासाठीच आम्ही ‘फार्मासिस्ट ऑफ द इयर’ हा पुरस्कार सुरू केला. कुलकर्णी यांच्यासारख्या ज्येष्ठ फार्मासिस्टकडून प्रेरणा घेऊन आमचे विद्यार्थीही जबाबदार व आदर्श फार्मासिस्ट बनतील, हीच आमची अपेक्षा आहे. भोसले नॉलेज सिटी ही गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षण, नैतिक मूल्ये व शिस्त या तत्त्वांसाठी नेहमीच कटिबद्ध आहे._

_कार्यक्रमाच्या सुरुवातीला डी.फार्मसी प्राचार्य डॉ.सत्यजित साठे यांनी भारतीय औषध उद्योगाची सुरुवात, विस्तार व भारताचे जागतिक औषधनिर्मिती क्षेत्रातील योगदान यावर माहिती दिली. भारत हा आज जगातील आघाडीचा औषध निर्यातदार आणि व्हॅक्सीन उत्पादनात अग्रस्थानी असलेला देश आहे असे ते म्हणाले. प्रास्ताविक प्राचार्य डॉ.विजय जगताप यांनी केले. कॉलेजच्या स्थापनेला दहा वर्षे पूर्ण झाल्याबद्दल विशेष स्मरणिकेचे अनावरण मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले. यावेळी व्यासपीठावर संस्थेच्या अध्यक्षा ऍड.अस्मिता सावंतभोसले, श्रीपाद कुलकर्णी यांच्या पत्नी व नात, संस्थेच्या प्रशासकीय अधिकारी सुनेत्रा फाटक, सावंतवाडी तालुका केमिस्ट असोसिएशनचे अध्यक्ष विनायक दळवी, संतोष राणे, अमर गावडे, सचिन बागवे, प्रसाद सप्ते, ग्रेगरी डान्टस आदी फार्मासिस्ट उपस्थित होते._

The PLAN-B Club & Training & Placement Cell of Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy, Sawantwadi, organized a seminar on “Effective Communication: The Key to Academic Excellence and Lifelong Success” on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 at the YBCP Seminar Hall.

The program began with the inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Vijay Jagtap, Principal, YBCP. Ms. Namita Bhosale, TPC Head, shared the objective behind arranging the seminar.

The expert session was delivered by Dr. Vilas Sawant, Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Extension), who emphasized the importance of communication skills in academics, professional in life, and overall personality development. The talk highlighted key aspects such as verbal and non-verbal communication, listening skills, and effective presentation techniques.

The seminar was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from first & Second Year B. Pharm students, who gained valuable insights to strengthen their academic and professional journey.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and the entire program was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Priya U. Yadav, TPC Coordinator, and Ms. Namita S. Bhosale, TPC Head.

📌 Event Glimpse:
The Career Katta initiative, in association with the Maharashtra State Department of Higher & Technical Education and Maharashtra Information Technology Support Centre, jointly with the Training & Placement Cell of Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy, Sawantwadi, organized a Student Interaction Program on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 at the YBCP Seminar Hall. The program began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting. Dr. Vijay A. Jagtap, Founder Principal, YBCP, welcomed all dignitaries by offering a plant sapling. The objective of the Career Katta initiative was highlighted in an introductory note delivered by Ms. Namita S. Bhosale, TPC Head. The keynote interaction was conducted by Hon. Mr. Yashwant Sh*tole, President, Maharashtra Information Technology Support Centre. In his inspiring talk, He introduced the Career Katta platform, a government initiative aimed at supporting students and young professionals in career development. He explained the services provided by Career Katta, including guidance for higher education, career counseling, skill development programs. he emphasized the constructive use of mobile phones, social media, and digital platforms for career development, encouraging students to convert these tools into opportunities for learning, networking, and professional growth. His session motivated students to align their academic journey with real-world aspirations. As a token of appreciation, Lt. Col. Hon. Five days Climate Skill Training Program was organized by the University of Mumbai and sponsored by the British Council and HSBC at its Sub-Campus, Ratnagiri, from 15/09/2025 to 19/09/2025.

Representing Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy, Sawantwadi, Mr. Vinod Biradar, (Asst Professor) along with Third Year B. Pharmacy students Aman Mishra, Ksh*tij Sawant, Viraj Chavan, Manswi Hatankar, and Dipraj Gosavi, actively participated in this workshop.

The program combined academic sessions with interactive activities and highlighted biodiversity conservation, and sustainability practices. In addition to environmental themes, it also focused on soft skills development, including leadership, effective communication, and cognitive skill-building.

This participation provided students with an excellent platform to broaden their knowledge, strengthen essential skills, and gain meaningful perspectives on both climate awareness and personal growth.

🎓✨ Alumni Talk Series – VIII

The PLAN-B Club, Training & Placement Cell, and Alumni Cell of Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy, Sawantwadi, successfully organized the Alumni Talk Series – VIII on 13th September 2025.

We were delighted to host our proud alumna, Ms. Afiya Baig, who completed her B. Pharm and M. Pharm from our college and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy, University of Mumbai.

In her insightful session titled “From Roots to Research: A Journey with Herbal Formulations towards Ph.D.”she shared her journey and gave detailed guidance on research tools, drafting resources, and opportunities for higher education like M. Pharm and Ph.D.
