Hi Friends. Its been quite sometime in reaching out. I have an unfinished task on my hand. I need support. What's this, you may ask? As you all maybe knowing, yesterday was World Heart Day. I reiterate my goal of reaching out to 'Hundred thousand' members and train them on CPR. This has been my goal from the day I started the FB page 'Good Samaritan's Korner'. Of course I do not have the necessary wherewithal to fulfil my dream. In the meantime, on the World Heart Day yesterday, AIG Dr. Nageshwar Reddy has started a similar campaign with similar goals. Naturally he will succeed, as he has a potent workforce and resources to proceed. Please read the article posted here. My request to my FB friends, Can any of my friends help me in taking this up as a campaign to raise awareness on CPR in the community, by reaching out to the police, RWAs, Recreation centres, Resorts, public places and events [e.g. Sunday Funday in Tank Bund], etc. Can I at least expect some support from my FB friends to help me in reaching out to the 'community'. Friends, whoever has connections with the police, or are associated with RWAs, or connected with recreation centres, I would like them to support me in reaching out to them. Thank you in advance.

By the time you reach the hospital, the victim would have been dead. He could be anyone in your neighbourhood, could be your friend or God-forbid your own family member. Would you want this to happen to you. No?

Don’t let this happen. Use every second of these 180 seconds to revive the victim with cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR]. Don’t lose time – every second is precious. Hi Friends. A lot many people do not know the difference between heart attack and cardiac arrest - the former is where a part of the heart dies, but the heart is still functioning and pumping; whereas, the latter is where the heart stops its pumping. Heart attack can lead to cardiac arrest, but not always. CPR is to be administered only when the heart stops pumping and not in a heart attack when there is a pulse.
