Case of the day.

C/o DOV (OD) since 2yrs.
H/o Silicon oil inserted 2yrs back.
No H/o Silicon oil removal.

Vn (OD) : No PL

It's necessary to have regular followup in case of any retinal abnormalities or in case of silicon oil is inserted into the eye. Normal life of si oil in eye is about 1yr.

Condition in po : Hyperleon

Diagnosis : Silicon oil induced glaucoma.

It's humble request to all my friends, if anyone is regular contact lens user and is suffered from any kind of flu or infection, then it will be better to avoid using contacts for few weeks or months. Using contacts with such conditions can be harmful to you. As you know eyes are also one of route to spread infections. Stay safe and keep your surroundings clean.

Viral Lymphadenopathy (OD)

In last days found a patient with
c/o redness, itching, epiphora, pain.
H/o using e/d exocin, e/d L-pred, e/d ref. tears since 1 week

Adenovirus infection is quite contagious, as the virus is transmitted readily in respiratory or ocular secretions, contaminated fomites (including eye droppers and mascara bottles), and even contaminated swimming pools. Frequent handwashing is recommended and care must be taken to avoid contamination to others through towels, make-up, instruments, or other fomites.
