As an extension activity under" Project Punarjanam" - Eye care interventions of Leprosy affected patients , the program team of Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya (MNC)- Lepra Society visited Nuapali, Santarapali & Hatibari leprosy colonies of Sambalpur district to provide need based eye care services.
The team screened 57 inmates & provided free medicines & spectacles beside referring patients for surgical intervention.
On 3rd November , in the 1st phase,free surgeries were performed on 13 cataract blind eyes & restored the lost vision.
Similarly, on the same eventful day, a group of 14 patients from Chattisgarh state were also successfully operated at Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya ( MNC )- Lepra Society.
Both the activities have proved the point that MNC has not moved an inch from its stand & commitment of service continuation & provision of quality eye care services to one of the most vulnerable groups of the society. Similarly, surgeries of Chattisgarh patients have proved the point that the name, fame & fragrance of MNC has crossed the Odisha state boundary .
The achievement was meant for a good cause
