Once you suspect a mesh infection in a patient after Laparoscopic Repair and there is radiological evidence of collection. Remove the mesh at an earliest.
Kindly don't try to drain pus by putting pigtail catheters. By doing so you are delaying the treatment and making mesh explanation difficult.

Once again continuing excellent aneasthesia care, two more laparoscopic cholecystectomy were performed today on 03/11/2025 under segmental spinal by Dr Aakif, Dr Alfer, Mr Mushtaq and Miss Bilkees headed Dr Arifa Amin.
This way General Aneasthesia was avoided keeping in view the high risk involved because of COPD, and other comorbdities.

JLNM Hospital has achieved a major milestone by successfully performing its first laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication—a key surgical procedure for severe acid reflux (GERD)—on a 65-year-old patient who had not responded to maximal medical therapy.
This is the first time such a surgery has been done in a district hospital in J&K, marking a proud moment for the entire team.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Akhter Ahmad Ganai, Dr. Nisar Shah, and Dr. Shakeeb Lone with anaesthesia support from Dr. Arifa, Dr. Javed Khurshid, and their team. The patient recovered well and was discharged on the third day post-op.
This is a big step for district-level hospitals.
JLNM continues to lead from the front—one successful surgery at a time.

JLNM Hospital continues to provide Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical care.

In an effort to provide better health care facilities, after the live dry demonstration in the endo skill lab of JLNM Hospital on Wednesday, an operative workshop was conducted in which HANDX HANDHELD ROBOTIC SYSTEM by Meril Endo Surgery was used in the OT for Laparoscopic Surgery of hernia and appendix under the supervision of Dr Akhter Ganai; Senior Laparoscopic Surgeon on Thursday (15-02-2024).

The Administration of JLNM Hospital headed by Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan appreciated the surgical team for their efforts.

Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather congratulated the department of Minimal Access Surgery and appreciated the efforts put in by the team. He is hopeful that such procedures would be continued in future to uplift patient care.

Advanced Laparoscopic Training Skill at JLNM Hospital

In an endure to upgrade the skill of Laparoscopic Surgery, a live dry demonstration was conducted in the endo skill lab of JLNM Hospital in which HANDX HANDHELD ROBOTIC SYSTEM by Meril Endo Surgery was used under supervision of Dr Akhter Ganai (Senior Laparoscopic Surgeon). All the surgeons and post graduate students participated in the workshop.

The Adminstration of JLNM Hospital headed by Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan provided all the logistic support for the workshop and appreciated the surgical team for their efforts.

Director Health Services Kashmir ; Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather congratulated the department of Minimal Access Surgery, JLNM Hospital and asked the surgical team to impart this training to surgeons working in other hospitals of the Directorate.

Advanced Specialist Care at JLNM Hospital

In an endure to continue to provide advanced specialist care to the patients, a highly advanced minimally invasive spine procedure which is so far available in selected cities of the country was performed today in JLNM Hospital Srinagar. The procedure called Transforaminal Endoscopic Discectomy is done for removal of disc prolapse (low back pain with leg pain).
The advantage of this surgery is that the disc prolapse is removed under local anaesthesia in an awake and alert state. It involves a mini incision (7-8mm) to remove the disc. Patient is discharged from the hospital next day and can resume routine activities in a few days.
The operating team included Dr. Suhail A Bhat and Dr. Manzoor Gul, Anesthesia back up was provided by Dr Arifa and support staff included Mr Samiullah, Mr Bashir Ahmad and Mr. Tariq Ahmad.
All the logistic support was provided by Medical superintendent Dr Tajamul Hussain and his team.
Director health services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather has congratulated the team and hoped that such procedures continue to provide high quality care to the poor community.

CME on Surgical Management of Obesity and Energy Sources in Laparoscopic Surgery.

Continuing it's efforts to update the knowledge in surgical practice, post graduate department of surgery JLNM Hospital conducted a CME on energy sources in laparoscopic surgery and surgical management of obesity under the chairmanship of Dr Tajamul Hussain MS JLNM.
Mr Surjeet Singh from Ethicon (J&J) Endosurgicals discussed about energy sources used in laparoscopic surgery, While Dr Iqbal Saleem professor and head post graduate department of general and minimal access surgery GMC Srinagar (a renowned laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon) enlightened the audience about the surgical management of Obesity.
The event was attended by more than 40 delegates including surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians, cardiologists, post graduate students and other OT staff of JLNM.
The lectures were followed by an excellent interactive session in which many questions and queries raised by the delegates were answered by the speakers.
