Regularise NHM Employees: DAK

An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr G M Mir, President Doctors Association Kashmir on 23/06/2016.It was unanimously decided that DAK will support National Health Mission (NHM) in all its demands which they have put forward to the Govt. Regularising NHM employees is a burning issue and Govt. should take sincere steps in addressing this grave issue as early as possible.
Govt. has been showing step motherly treatment towards them and on the contrary the employees of NHM are backbone of the health department and are working with utmost dedication.
DAK stresses the Govt. to frame a Regularisation Policy the way it has been done for SRO-255 recruited employees, Rehbar-e-Zirat Technocrats and other state recruited contractual employees.

DAK Condemns manhandling of Senior Doctor by a Cop

DAK condemns manhandling of a senior doctor by SHO DH pora who after brutal attack was locked up after he refused to fill up an Injury Form of a patient (prisoner) at Sub District Hospital Damhal Hanjipora of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The victim Dr Muhammd Maqbool was dragged out from the hospital just because he refused to fill up an Injury Form of a prisoner. Under rules an injury form is filled up by that doctor who treats a patient. The prisoner was not his patient as he had already been treated by a doctor at Primary Health Centre Manzgam.

It was only after intervention of attendants of an emergency patient who barged into police station and got the doctor released during the dead of the night.

Thrashing of doctors has now become a routine which is just a sheer act of hooliganism against medical staff while discharging their duties.Such incidents are deplorable and barbaric.

President DAK Dr G M Mir has expressed outrage over physical assault on doctors and such episodes have created fear-psychosis among doctors who feel unsafe in hospitals.

Some police officials are taking undue advantage of their power and are demeaning the whole department by manhandling Health Care Servive Providers which is now becoming a day to day routine.Under these circumstances, how could a doctor give his best? The protectors of law are becoming law breakers.

A delegation of DAK have already met Director Health Services Kashmir who conveyed his displeasure to top police officials and assured to take the matter with higher authorities.

An inquiry team has been constituted but DAK is uncertain the erring police officer will be punished. The irony is that instead of apologizing police have registered a fake FIR against the victim doctor accusing him of assault.

Government has been indifferent to DAK proposal of an ordinance wherein any person manhandling a doctor or damaging hospital property should get a non-bailable warrant.
Government has failed to prevent violence against doctors and create a fearless atmosphere in hospitals which otherwise has resulted in brain drain.

DAK demands immediate action against the culprit or else we will be forced to go for indefinite strike.

DAK stresses the Govt. for bringing the ordinance as it is high time for the Govt. to act in actions and not in words.

DAK Supports Asiea Naqash

DAK in a meeting held under the chairmanship of President Dr G M Mir supports the stand of Mohtarma Asiea Naqash MoS Health & Medical Education wherin she has proposed for shifting of SDH Pattan to new building Hospital which will give new dimension to health care delivery. In this backdrop DAK wants increase in staff strength and facilities upgraded too so that new buildings are not just for cosmetic changes.
DAK also condemns the stand of few people with vested interests who don't want that new building at a separate place be commisioned.
Its in place to mention that with every passing day the load of patients in peripheries is increasing multifold and upgradation is the need of the hour or else we will be left behind. The old building in no way can suffice for challenfging health demands. For better health services it is quite a common sense that the better health care can be delivered under one roof. The demarcation of health delivery inbetween District Hospital Anantnag and MCH Anantnag and examples like this already are a vivid events wherein vested interests of few have hijacked the whole health care system leading to the sufferings which the common man has to face.

DAK stresses the Govt. that for the interests of very few people health concerns of community of the said area can't be hijacked and that Trauma Hospital Pattan should become a full fledged hospital for the people of Pattan.

Kangan Hospital staff staged protest against local politician

DAK condemns the barbaric action of the local politician of Kangan and his associates who have created a havoc by leashing a reign of terror in the hospital premises. The hospital campus turns into a battlefield whenever he along with bunch of hooligans attack hospital staff and damage hospital infrastructure to show his might and power.

Last night the said politician along with his associates reached the hospital and tried to manhandle the health staff on duty .Not only this, his workers tried to manhandle the staff on duty. Incidents like these have become a routine at the hospital which has damaged the work culture to a great extent. The staff of the hospital feel threatened and demoralized to work freely. Day in and day out he along with the associates tries to poke his nose in every matter of the hospital for the interests better known to him.The said politician now and then roams in hospital and acts as an administrator and intervenes in the internal official matters of the department which is condemnable and unethical.
The staff has approached the police station to file a F.I.R against the accused who have verbally abused and tried to manhandle the staff.

DAK condemns this barbaric act and will not allow anybody to politicise the issue for their vested interests at the cost of our lives and duties. DAK stresses the Govt. to intervene in the matter and put an end to this reign of terror so that the dignity of hospital staff remains intact and work culture should not get affected.
