Before and after disc herniation L4-L5, L5-S1
Over the past year, I have followed an intensive and highly structured rehabilitation protocol targeting segmental control, disc loading optimisation and progressive mechanical desensitisation.
The first MRI was performed in October 2024, and the second one in November 2025, illustrating the structural evolution over this period.
For the first six months, I maintained a frequency of two sessions per week, combining:
• manual therapy,chiropractic
• vertebral mobilisation,
• soft-tissue techniques and massage,
• electrotherapy,
• and a progressive, personalised exercise programme focused on motor control, load tolerance and directional preference.
The MRI sequences highlight significant improvements, including:
• reduction of neural compression,
• restoration of the epidural space,
• improved hydration signal,
• and better organisation of surrounding soft tissues.
These changes were achieved through precise load management, graded exposure, and continuous monitoring of mechanical responses throughout the year.
A special acknowledgement to my colleagues for their consistent support, expertise and involvement. Their contribution was essential in achieving such a favourable outcome.
