Each chromosome carries so many genes require for physical as well as mental development. Genetic is the study of biological make up of an individual. Inheriting chromosome so genes from each parent determine a person’s physical trait but at the same time faulty genes act as a carriers of various disease. The study of genes can foretell if an individual is likely to suffer from birth defect or has an increased risk of developing certain condition. Thus genetic testing is essential especially during the prenatal period. Chromosome analysis provide”Hawkeye view" of an individual's genetic information. Earlier Genetic study was limited to only rare disease/ condition observed by a few specialist but in 21st century genetic study has become fundamental component of our understanding of majority of disease/ conditions and this large fraction of genetic disease will continue to grow as one’s understanding of genetic basis of disease grows. Missing, extra, or rearranged chromosome material may be responsible for such diverse problems as birth defects, mental retardation, infertility, repeated miscarriages, leukemia’s, MDS. Analysis of chromosome can aid in the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of such ailments and thus it is vital tool for medical geneticists along with pediatrician, obstetricians, gynecologist, perinatologist, hematologist, oncologist, endocrinologist, pathologist and general physicians.

We are delighted to share that our Directors, Dr. Gaurav Shastri and Dr. Ekta Shastri, were invited to the Thermo Fisher Reproductive Meet 2025.
Dr. Gaurav Shastri presented several insightful cases on Karyotype and Chromosomal Microarray Analysis (CMA), highlighting how these genetic tests provide comprehensive information and guidance for couples planning pregnancy.
