Strong leaders build healthy teams. Not through perks or posters, but through what they model every day.

Employees follow people, not policies. When leaders show emotional regulation, set boundaries in real time, and fold well-being into decisions, the whole team learns what “normal” can be.

Try these this week:
• Name your stress and how you’re coping
• Recover in the open after setbacks
• Say out loud, “I’ll log off now and continue tomorrow”
• Ask before deadlines, “Will this pace cause burnout or can we structure it differently”
• Celebrate balance and learning, not just output

If you lead people, choose one behavior to model and tell your team you’re practicing it. If you’re an IC, share this with your manager and ask which one you can try together.

Dhanteras is a time for gratitude, reflection, and prayer. Let us take a moment to thank Goddess Lakshmi for all that we have and pray for her continued blessings. Let us also remember those who are less fortunate than us and do our bit to help them. After all, true prosperity lies in sharing what we have with others.

The significance of Dhanteras can be traced back to ancient times when it was considered a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. According to legend, King Hima, who ruled over a small kingdom, was blessed by Goddess Lakshmi on this day. She appeared in his dream and asked him to collect all the gold and silver he could find and keep it in his treasury. The king followed her instructions, and soon his kingdom became one of the wealthiest in the region. Since then, people have been celebrating Dhanteras to seek the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.

However, amidst all the celebrations, let us not forget the true essence of Dhanteras. So, as we celebrate Dhanteras, let us embrace the spirit of generosity, compassion, and kindness. May this festival bring joy, happiness, and prosperity to everyone, and may we always remember the true meaning behind its celebration.
