𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁?
PRP is a component of your blood that is rich in platelets and growth factors, which support cell growth and promotes new healthy cells and helps in healing. It is produced by isolating plasma from blood and concentrating it. Thus through localized injections, it rejuvenates skin and helps with hair growth. 💉

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱?
Commonly used in androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss and female pattern hair loss) 👨🏻👩🏻‍🦱

𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?
✅ Rejuvenation of skin
✅ Acne scars
✅ Open pores
✅ Stretch marks
✅ Scars

And many more!!!

𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 & 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔

𝟭. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁?
👉🏻Alopecia (or hair loss) caused by androgens (certain s*x hormones) & genetics.

𝟮. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿/𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿/𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗲/𝗱𝗮𝗱/𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗼?
👉🏻 Not necessarily. Genetics are complex & just because someone in your family has it, doesn't mean that you HAVE to get it. The more people in your family that have it though, the more likely you are to get it. Also, the closer in relation to you those people are, the more likely you probably are to getting it.

𝟯. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸?
👉🏻It's hair loss that tends to have a certain pattern in men and women. Swipe for photos. You see thinning & hair loss because the hair follicle gets miniaturized (it gets smaller & smaller & the hair gets thinner & thinner.)

𝟰. 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲?
👉🏻This is pretty common & most of the time, it really is patterned hair loss.
👉🏻RARELY. Sometimes you have 2 kinds of hair loss going on. Like right now, a lot of people have both patterned hair loss & telogen effluvium (THANKS TO THE CORONA!!) & sometimes the hair loss is also from treatable hormone, vitamin or mineral abnormalities.

𝟱. 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁?
👉🏻Patterned hair loss is chronic (meaning it's a long term problem) but we do have things that can HELP. I like to use a combination approach to tackle it.
👉🏻Options include supplements (based on blood work), minoxidil, finasteride/dutasteride, PRP or (platelet rich plasma) & hair transplant.

Today, we honour doctors for their dedication and contributions to society and the community. This past year, more than ever before, the world has witnessed our sacrifices and commitment to the field of medicine. To us, it's not just a job. It's not our occupation. Being a doctor defines who we are.

I wanted to tak the opportunity today to share why I love not just being a but specifically a
👉🏻 being able to treat the largest organ of the body - SKIN
👉🏻 being able to be a true expert in all things dermatology related: hair, skin and nails
👉🏻 the ability to treat common skin conditions but also rare, complex medical diagnoses
👉🏻 diagnosing an internal medical condition by simply looking at skin
👉🏻 the ability to treat more than 3000 dermatological conditions
👉🏻 the opportunity to treat patients of all ages, from infancy to elderly
👉🏻 being able to change someone's quality of life, improve their self-esteem, or provide relief to severe symptoms
👉🏻 make a diagnosis through visual inspection, use dermoscopy or procedural skills like biopsy if necessary, understand and interpret the pathology, and provide viable treatment options for patients.

I am honored and privileged to be a part of this virtuous field. A great 𝒃𝒊𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 to every doctor out there, especially my colleagues and friends. Don't forget to thank your doctor today!
