For 2 decades now, Thane CPCA , formerly well known as Thane SPCA, has been working in the district of Thane to alleviate the sufferings of ownerless animals, inflicted on them by humans, nature or environment. In the summer of 2002, a handful of animal lovers took upon themselves, the onus of bringing to street animals, the care and attention they deserve. The working group started as caretakers on the streets of Thane, went on to build a hospital with the support of 4 animal ambulances and a 26 member staff team. An initiative that began to address the health and cruelty issues being meted out to street animals, has been now elevated to regulation and interaction with the Government sector and fellow organisations in the voluntary sector to ensure animals get their rights. This is done by a core group of Trustees and Patron members by setting high operating standards set by selfless principles. We aspire to build faith and trust between the Government and Non-Government sector which will be the only way to bring full relief to suffering animals. The norms for foundation of the organization were set in their Vision and Mission Statement along with its Objectives. The hallmark of this organization was and always will be honesty, transparency, good governance, public disclosure and accountability. After these hours, only emergencies are attended inside the hospital premises. Our Hospital is open between 9 AM and 9 PM for OPD patients, every day of the year. However, only our ambulance staff are allowed to leave the premises between 10 AM and 6:30 PM for attending rescue calls. Our night staff will not leave the hospital premises to attend calls between 6:30 PM and 10:00 AM. Please co-operate.Our Hospital is open for visits from 4 PM to 5 PM on all days except Public Holidays. Please contact our office on 09322271966 for an appointment in case you want to visit at a different time.

Celebrate the Joy of Giving through this year's Daan Utsav, for those that are less fortunate than us - street animals who fight for every scrap of food every day. Our depleting wildlife who holds on the last piece of habitat that we steal away from them. Celebrate Kindness. Light up lives this Diwali!!!

On this Sunday early morning, we realised that failure of a programme can also bring little joys....
A pregnant mother from Bhiwandi, with dystocia. Bhiwandi where there is no ABC programme. Rescued by animal lovers and admitted to in the wee hours of the morning. An emergency surgery by Dr Shardul Salvi and voilรก - 9 babies : 4 dead and 5 absolutely to die for. Pink noses, pink paws, tiny ears, round tummies. While mom is recuperating from the surgery, free cuddles available for all of you who care to visit.

From all of us who she taught, to love every species indiscriminately, from all of us who wanted to be her, but at least ended up being somewhat like her : you remain in spirit. Always will.

Roopmati ! The sensation since two days in Thane when she came back from the jaws of death aka leopard.
And her friend who stood between Roopmati and the leopard and forced the leopard to flee. That's friendship without expectations. While Roopmati heals in her cage, her friend waits patiently in her building, for her to return.

Charitable giving is vital - it increases social responsibility, transforms lives and uplifts communities. The United Nations established this day to commemorate the passing of Mother Teresa from this mortal world. Plan your charitable journey from this day - research a cause, pan your donation, volunteer at an NPO. Keep it uncomplicated - be good to your heart.
