On 9 March, we had the honor of welcoming Mr. Johannes Ebert, Secretary General and Chair of the Executive Board of the Goethe-Institut, to Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum during his visit to Thiruvananthapuram.

During his visit, Mr. Ebert engaged with our students and teachers, learning about their experiences with studying and teaching the German language. He expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedication of our teachers and their valuable contribution to German language education.

He also encouraged our students, noting that Germany deeply values young people who choose to learn German especially at a time when the country welcomes skilled professionals and motivated young talent.
We are truly grateful to Mr. Ebert for his visit and for the inspiring words he shared with our community.

As part of Goethe-Zentrum’s 18th Anniversary celebrations, the “My Goethe” Reels Contest invited students to creatively share their personal journeys, experiences, and connection with Goethe-Zentrum’s vibrant learning community.

Today, we are delighted to share one of the winning reels by the A1 Level Batch, guided by Ms. Haripriyadarshini. The reel beautifully captures the joy of starting their German language journey, filled with lively classroom moments and wonderful student bonding. It truly reflects the joyful, energetic spirit of the Goethe-Zentrum family.

As part of the Naming Ceremony of the Amphitheatre, prizes were presented to the winners of the “My Goethe” Reels Contest, held in celebration of Goethe-Zentrum’s 18th Anniversary. The contest invited students to creatively express their personal connection with Goethe-Zentrum and its vibrant learning community.

The occasion also featured the felicitation of Ms. Mekha Jayakumar and Ms. Anjali Dileep, trained nurses, participants of the Triple Win Program, and students of Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum. They had the distinguished opportunity to meet the German Chancellor, Mr. Friedrich Merz, during his high-level delegation visit to Ahmedabad on an inspiring milestone that reflects the global pathways enabled through language education and international cooperation.

The event reinforced Goethe-Zentrum’s commitment to academic excellence, intercultural understanding, and global opportunity.
