On 25 November 2025, Goethe-Zentrum had the privilege of hosting Ms. Kathy Moran, senior photo editor at National Geographic Magazine for over three decades, for an inspiring evening of storytelling and conservation insights. As a leading figure in wildlife photography and visual journalism, Kathy shared her extraordinary journey with National Geographic, reflecting on landmark projects, editorial experiences, and the profound impact of visual storytelling in driving global conservation efforts. Her session offered a rare and enriching experience for photographers, students, and nature enthusiasts alike.

The program was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. G. Vijaya Raghavan (Chairperson, Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum & Kochi), who delivered the welcome address, and Mr. Balan Madhavan (Senior Fellow, ILCP), who introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Syed Ibrahim also honored the gathering with his presence and delivered the vote of thanks. The Youth Camp 2025 is buzzing with energy at the scenic Anantya Resort by the lake. From 21 to 23 November, this vibrant three-day residential program brings together over 50 young learners, aged 10 to 15, from our Kinder Courses across various schools in Trivandrum.

Participants are fully immersed in a dynamic schedule, featuring German language sessions, creative and cultural workshops, hands-on cooking experiences, team activities, and a series of fun and interactive tasks. Each activity is designed to strengthen language skills, foster creativity, encourage teamwork, and promote intercultural awareness. The camp continues until 23 November, offering students a meaningful, enjoyable, and immersive learning environment.

Among 16 strong teams, our players delivered an exceptional display of skill and determination, earning the Runner-Up title and the Best Goalkeeper Award, a remarkable achievement that brings immense pride and joy to our community. The CrossCulture Programme (CCP) is now accepting applications for its fully funded 2026 Fellowships, offering a 2-3 month professional exchange for civil society professionals from 40+ eligible countries. The program enables participants to work with host organizations in Germany or partner countries, strengthening their professional skills, intercultural competencies, and international networks. The Fellowship focuses on key fields such as policy and society, media and culture, human rights and peace, and sustainable development and climate justice, with special emphasis in 2026 on democratic resilience and culture of remembrance.

As a fully funded program, the Fellowship provides a monthly stipend (International Fellows: €650, German Fellows: €1,200), along with coverage of travel expenses, accommodation, health insurance, and visa fees. Participants also receive professional mentoring, take part in a 3-4 day Transcultural Workshop, and gain access to CCP’s extensive international alumni network.

Established in memory of Professor Dr. Gisela Bonn, a renowned author, scholar, and advocate of Indo-German relations, the award recognizes exemplary achievements across cultural, political, social, and economic spheres. The selected laureate will be offered a fully funded, one-to-two-week visit to India, curated to support their continued research and engagement. Goethe-Zentrum invites eligible candidates and partner institutions to engage with this esteemed initiative, which continues to strengthen and celebrate the enduring Indo-German partnership.

On Tuesday, 11th November, Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum hosted an insightful session on German visa formalities, led by a Visa Officer from the German Consulate, Bangalore. The session provided participants with comprehensive guidance on the German visa process, including documentation requirements, interview preparation, application procedures, and the latest updates on visa guidelines.

Held at the Goethe-Zentrum campus in Jawahar Nagar, Trivandrum, the event saw active participation from students and professionals aspiring to study, work, or pursue new opportunities in Germany. The interactive discussions and direct engagement with the visa officer offered attendees valuable clarity and confidence as they plan their journey to Germany.
