Signs and symptoms of acute kidney failure:
1. Decreased urine output, although occasionally urine output remains normal.
2. Fluid retention or swelling in your legs, ankles, or feet
3. Shortness of breath
4. Fatigue
5. Confusion
6. Nausea
7. Weakness
8. Irregular heartbeat
9. Chest pain or pressure over the chest
She also added that
As with any emergency medical condition, initial assessment always begins with airway, breathing, and circulation (A, B, C’s).
Vital signs should be obtained, including blood pressure. Ill-appearing patients should be placed on continuous monitoring and IV access obtained.
Laboratory studies might be very helpful: complete blood counts, electrolytes, BUN, Cr, urinalysis, and further urine studies (typically Na, urea, protein, and creatinine).
All these pay for easy sustainability of the life of the patient.

Prevent kidney disease and it's emergencies by
- Taking care of co-morbidity conditions like Diabetes, and hypertension.
- Practise a kidney-friendly diet -should limit sodium, cholesterol, and fat, and instead focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean meats (seafood, poultry, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds, and soy products).
- Avoid intake of alcohol and smoking.
- stay hydrated.
