being a therapist comes with a long list of “rules.”
some make sense, while others… not so much🙈

over the years, i’ve realized that sticking too tightly to certain rules can make therapy feel less human. and at the end of the day, therapy is about connection, presence, and authenticity✨

it’s not about having all the answers, it’s about gentle shifts—starting small, rediscovering yourself, trying something new, showing kindness, or breaking fears down into pieces you can hold..

7 things i learned in therapy that i wish i knew sooner💭
i’m a therapist, but i’m also in therapy🤌🏻
and that’s something i’ve grown to deeply value.. therapy has been one of the most grounding and eye-opening parts of my life and it hasn’t always been easy—there were tears, resistance, and a lottt of unlearning—but with time, these lessons have shaped how i see myself and how i move through the world😌
of course, these aren’t “quick fixes!!”
they’re reminders i return to again and again; and every time i do, i find a little more clarity, a little more peace, and a little more of me..

lately, life has been a little heavier than usual.. i’ve been mostly on bed rest for the past six weeks, and during this time, i realized how important the small, simple things are when it comes to taking care of yourself🌻

so, i put together this “no b.s. self-care list” — fun little reminders that kept me grounded, helped me cope, and reminded me it’s okay to take it slow😌

sharing this with the hope that it reaches anyone who needs a gentle nudge to care for themselves in light, playful, yet grounding ways.. you don’t always need to “fix” yourself — sometimes just being kinder to yourself is enough🫰🏻

well, i don’t know about you — but my brain does that🤷🏻‍♀️

for the helpers!!
for the ones who hold space — sometimes while quietly falling apart themselves🫰🏻

i’ve had days where i’m deep in someone’s story, while quietly drowning in mine..
where the voice is calm, but the mind is noisy🙄

there are reels i haven’t posted🎞️
meals i’ve skipped🍽️
calls i couldn’t return📞
and emotions i’ve tucked away under the label “not now”🗂️

this isn’t a meltdown post; this is a mirror🪞
because therapists need therapy too💬
and showing up for others doesn’t mean we’re not tired of showing up for ourselves🌻

so if you’re the strong one, the listener, the “i’ll figure it out” kind —
maybe this is your nudge,
to pause⏸️
to check in✅
to book your session🗓️
