Welcome to the Official Page of Chandigarh Unit of Indian Institute of Homeopathic Physicians (IIHP). IIHP was first formalized in the name of All India Institute of Homeopaths in 1944 by a team of dedicated stalwarts such as Dr. M. Gururaju, Dr. A. Mukharjee, Dr. Diwan Jaichand, Dr. Daya Shankar, Dr. J. Srivasthava, Dr. S. Asthana and Dr. K. Saxena as the Founder Secretary General. Padmasri Dr. K. Saxena was chief instrumental in the recognition and development of Homeopathy in India. He burnt his life as a candle to shine forth the bright light to Homeopathy and qualified Homeopathic brethren in particular, by sacrificing all his time, money and energy. We owe him a great deal for having initiated the institute, for having made the government to form the famous joint parliamentary committee in 1949 with scientists from different disciplines. This committee in turn gave a favorable report and the government finally recognized the system of Homeopathy as a scientific one. His other achievements in the name of the Institute include formation of Ad-hoc Committee, Family Planning Committee etc. initiation of Central Council of Homeopathy, Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, National Institute of Homeopathy, Drug standardization Unit at Ghaziabad, and Institution of various CGHS Homeopathic Dispensaries. In turn various State Governments recognized Homeopathy and started Homeopathic Medical Colleges and Hospitals as well. IIHP was initially formed by a team of dedicated stalwarts of homeopathy, which is now being run in 14 states under different units. The Chandigarh Branch has been teamed up by sincere and ardent followers of homeopathy, who believe in working for the fraternity and raising awareness among masses about capabilities of this science of medicine.
