"Does vision get worse if you don’t wear your prescribed glasses? 👓✨

Not wearing your prescription glasses will not worsen your eye power, but it can cause symptoms like eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision, especially in people with refractive errors like myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism.

In children, however, not wearing glasses when needed can lead to amblyopia (lazy eye) or affect visual development.

Proper use of prescribed glasses doesn't reduce or reverse eye power, but it helps in clear vision, reduces strain, and supports healthy visual function, says Dr Suganya Naveenkumar, Consultant – Ophthalmologist at Deepam Eye Hospitals, Avadi.

It's important to follow your ophthalmologist’s advice and get regular eye checkups to ensure your prescription stays up-to-date.
