CARI participated in Diabetes screening camp at Samatvam diabetic centre, Bengaluru on the occasion of World Diabetes Day

To commemorate World Diabetes day on 14th Nov, 2025,a special programme “Madhumeha Vimarsha” was organised at CARI, Bengaluru. Dr.Sulochana Bhat, Head of the Institute, in her inaugural address gave a bird’s eye view of the ongoing research, clinical work and outreach initiatives taken up by the institute in the area of Diabetes. Prof. Dr G. G. Gangadharan, Former Director, RISA Hospital, Bengaluru and Dr. Nagesh L., Retd. Professor Emeritus, Research and Development, DSCDS, Bengaluru were the guest speakers. Staff and students of Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic sciences and research and Hillside Ayurveda Medical college and hospital participated in the event along with Officers and Staff of CARI, Bengaluru.

Training program on “iGOT Karmayogi” was successfully conducted at CARI, Bengaluru by master trainers Dr.Shiddamallayya and Mr.Noushad Ahmed, CCRAS headquarters on 10.11.2025. All the regular employees participated in the training program.

As part of the Vigilance Awareness Programme, a talk was delivered by Mr. Kumar Prasad, Chartered Accountant, on 31st October 2025. The guest speaker engaged the audience with an insightful session on personal finance and methods to prevent financial frauds, illustrating his points through real-life anecdotes and incidents.

An MoU was formally exchanged between CCRAS-CARI and Prayoga, Bengaluru, for undertaking a collaborative research project “Standardisation and Authentication of Selected Ayurvedic Classical Formulations through a Novel Method using Powder X-ray Diffraction (XRD)”. focussing on commonly used anti-diabetic Ayurvedic formulations under the Centre of Excellence scheme sanctioned to CARI, Bengaluru, by the Ministry of Ayush. Vaidya Jayant Deopujari, Chairman, Ayush Sectional committee, BIS was gracefully present on this occasion.

A workshop on Pharmacovigilance was held at CARI, Bengaluru on 17/10/2025. Dr.Sulochana Bhat, Incharge, CARI delivered welcome address followed by special address by Ms.Shrishti Dixit, Scientific E/Director, Head (Ayush) BIS and Vaidya.Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, CCRAS. Dr.Galib R, Coordinator, National Pharmacovigilance Programme was the chief guest. Technical sessions were conducted by Dr.Shubhashree M N, Coordinator, PPvC, CARI, Bengaluru and Dr.Arsha K S, JRF, PPvC, CARI followed by talk on BIS Standards by Dr.Raghavendra Naik, Scientist C, Ayush Department, BIS.

The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CCRAS–CARI), Bengaluru, hosted the 8th meeting of the Ayurveda Sectional Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by Vaidya Jayant Deopujari, former Chairperson of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).
Key points related to standardization activities at both the national and international levels were reviewed and discussed during the meeting.
Dr. Raghavendra Naik, Member Secretary, Ayurveda Sectional Committee, BIS, coordinated the proceedings of the meeting.
