Vala Eye Centre is helmed by our vitreoretinal surgeon Dr.Ruchi Vala.
She is a trained Vitreo Retina Surgeon and Uveitis Specialist.
She finished her MBBS from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and went on to pursue her Postgraduation in Ophthalmology from Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University, Vadodara.
To follow her true calling for specialization in Retina, she did a 2-year long term fellowship from prestigious Narayana Nethralaya Eye Hospital, Bangalore.

At this Alma Mater, she finished an exclusive six months research fellowship in Diseases of Uvea and eighteen months fellowship in Medical & Surgical Retina and Pediatric Retinal Diseases.
Since then, she has worked at various charitable institutes, private corporate hospitals and clinics in Vadodara and Ahmedabad.

Over this course, she has published various national and international articles in acclaimed journals and even written book chapters in Ophthalmology books.

She has presented her research and clinical work in various national and international conferences.

It is important to get a dilated RETINA examination in order to prevent, diagnose and manage many retinal & uveal diseases.
Getting a dilated retina check up is simple & non invasive. All you have to consent is to allow your doctor to put dilating drops in your eyes and wait for 15-30 minutes for the drops to act. Once the effect comes, the doctor can give you a detailed eye check up for your retina.
This should be done especially if one has high myopia, diabetes, hypertension, other vascular diseases or family history of retinal diseases.
