⚠️💡 People are over using vitamin and mineral supplements today, which is alarming. Sharing my views on the probable reason behind this:
As you may know, most dietary supplements marketed in India contain nutrients well within the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) and are strictly regulated by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for the dosage and label information. Reading the product label carefully is therefore imperative to achive the right dose and desired health benefit, when diet alone is not nutritionally adequate. It is even better to consult a health care professional.
Thus, nutritional supplements are not harmful but need to be taken in the right way! Consuming more than the recommended dosage does not augment the expected benefits. The blame for vitamin overdosage is not on the nutrient content of a supplements but on the lack of familiarity with the label information. Therefore consumers, always read the labels and let not the important information go unnoticed‼️⚠️
