વર્ષા ની વિદાય અને શરદનુ આગમન એટલે ભાદરવો. દિવસે ધોમ ધખે અને મોડી રાત્રે આછુ ઓઢીને સુવુ પડે એવો ઠાર પડે. આયુર્વેદાચાર્યો કહી ગયા છે કે વર્ષામા પિત્તનો સંગ્રહ થાય અને શરદમા તે પિત્ત પ્રકોપે. આ પ્રકોપવુ એટલે તાવ.

*ભાદરવાના તાપ અને તાવથી બચવા ત્રણ-ચાર ઘરગથ્થુ પ્રયોગો*

(૧) ભાદરવાના ત્રીસે દિવસ રોજ રાત્રે સુતા પહેલા સુદર્શન/મહાસુદર્શન ઘનવટી - ૨-૩ ટીક્ડી ચાવીને નવસેકા ગરમ પાણી સાથે લેવી.

(૨) અનુકૂળતા હોય તો ભાદરવાના ત્રીસે દિવસ દુધ -ચોખા-સાકરની ખીર અથવા દુધ-પૌવા ખાવુ. ગળ્યુ દુધ એ વકરેલા પિત્તનુ જાની દુશ્મન છે. આ હેતુથી જ શ્રાદ્ધપક્ષમાં ખીર બનાવવાનુ આયોજન થયુ હતુ.
(૩) જેની છાલ પર કથ્થાઇ/કાળા ડાઘ હોય એવા પાકેલ કેળાને છુંદીને એમા સાકર ઉમેરી બપોરે જમવા સાથે ખાવા. જો ઇચ્છા હોય તો ઘી પણ ઉમેરવુ. પણ કેળા સાથે ઘી પાચનમા ભારે થાય. એટલે જો ઘી ઉમેરો, તો પછી બેએલચી વાટીને ઉમેરી દેવી.

(જો ખીર અને કેળા - બન્નેનો પ્રયોગ કરવો હોય તો કેળા બપોરે અને ખીર સાંજે એમ ગોઠવવુ)
(૪) ભલેચુકે ખાટી છાશ ન જ પીવી. ખુબ વલોવેલી, સાવ મોળી છાશ લેવી હોય તો ક્યારેક લેવાય.

(૫) ઠંડા પહોરે (વહેલી સવારે કે સાંજે) પરસેવો વળે એટલુ ચાલવુ.
(ઠંડી અને ચાંદની રાતમાં રાસગરબા ના આયોજન પાછળનુ રહસ્ય આ જ હતુ - પરસેવો પડે)

આચાર્યોએ શરદને રોગોની માતા કહી છે - रोगाणाम् शारदी माता. અને
' યમની દાઢ ' પણ કહી. આપણામાં એક આશિર્વાદ પ્રચલીત હતો.

Ayurveda Immune Boosting Tips:

1. Eat light, warm foods.

2. Avoid eating or drinking anything cold, because cold foods and drinks will reduce the digestive fire.

3. Avoid heavy, difficult to digest sweets and fried foods. Enjoy sweet root vegetables, broths and soups.

4. Daily self massage in the morning with warm oils such as sesame or sunflower strengthens the skin and muscles and nourishes the tissues. This practice daily enhances a feeling of love and wellbeing.

5. Take warm baths in the evening with epsom salts and warming essential oils such as ginger, cardamom, eucalyptus, rosemary, cinnamon, cedar, pine, juniper, basil.

6. Include warming spices such as cardamom, ginger, cumin, turmeric and cinnamon in your foods.

7. Make sure to get enough sleep and avoid oversleeping.

8. Explore including in your diet, Ayurvedic rejuvenative herbs taken as teas or tonics such as: ashwaghanda, turmeric, triphala, amla (Indian Gooseberry), tulsi (holy basil), chyavanprash (an Ayurvedic formulation of rejuvenating herbs plus honey and ghee). All these are available at your health food store or online at various Ayurvedic herbal suppliers.

9. Enjoy warming and energizing exercise such as active yoga, walking, hiking, and snowshoeing. These enhance circulation and build strength.

10. Allow yourself space and time for meditative reflection, inner contemplation and pranayama practice.

*FAINTING OR SLUMPING IN THE BATHROOM,*

*What is the cause?*

We always hear of people who have stroke after a fall in the bath.
Why have we not heard of falling elsewhere?

When I took part in a healthy lifestyle course, a National Sports Council Professor, who also participated in the course, advised that:

👉 the head should not be washed first in the process of taking a bath (even washing of the hair).

👉 other parts of the body should be cleaned first.
This is because when the head is wet & cold, blood will flow to the head to warm it up.

👉 If the blood vessels have narrowed, it is likely to cause the blood vessels to rupture.

Since it usually happens in the bathroom, be sure to raise the awareness to avoid this happening again.

*CORRECT PROCESS OF BATH TAKING:*
👉 Start the wetness from the sole of the foot.
👉 Progress to the Small legs, the thigh, abdomen & then shoulder.
At this point, pause for 5-10 seconds.

👉 A feeling like steam/wind overflowing from the body may be observed; & then take a shower as usual.

*✅ WISDOM:*
When a glass is filled with hot water & then suddenly emptied & filled with cold water; what happens?
👉 The glass will burst💥!!

Then, with regards to the human body, what happens?
Naturally, the body temperature is very hot, whereas the water is very cold,
👉 a cold shower on the body or the head directly would suddenly trap the wind, or deaden it, because the blood vessels got broken.

This is why people often suddenly fall over in the bathroom; due to wrong bathing method. And that often causes a stroke or causes a migraine.

*ADVICE:*
🚿This bathing method is suitable for all ages, especially those with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol & Migraine/Headache
