Ovarian cancer is often called the silent disease because its symptoms can be vague or go unnoticed in the early stages.πΉπ©Ί
Key risk factors include:
β’ Age β Women aged 65 and older account for nearly half of all ovarian cancer cases
β’ Family history β Having an immediate family member (mother, sister, daughter) with ovarian cancer increases your risk
β’ Medications β Use of estrogen-only hormone therapy after menopause may raise the likelihood
β’ Obesity β A BMI of 30 or higher is linked to increased risk
β’ Personal history of other cancers β Especially breast, colorectal, or uterine cancer
β’ Pregnancy history β Having no children or having a first full-term pregnancy after age 35 can be a contributing factor
