What Is RLS?
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by uncomfortable sensations in the legs, often described as creeping, crawling, or tingling. These sensations lead to an irresistible urge to move the legs, especially during rest or sleep.

Who Does It Affect?
RLS can affect people of all ages, although it’s more common in middle-aged and older adults.
It often runs in families, suggesting a genetic component.

Symptoms:

1. Leg Discomfort: The hallmark symptom is discomfort in the legs, usually worse at night or during periods of inactivity.

2. Urge to Move: Individuals with RLS feel an overwhelming need to move their legs to relieve the discomfort.

3. Sleep Disturbances: RLS can disrupt sleep, leading to fatigue and daytime drowsiness.

4.Triggers and Aggravators: Iron Deficiency: Low iron levels may play a role in RLS.

5. Certain Medications: Some drugs can worsen symptoms. So consult your Doctor.

6. Chronic Diseases: Conditions like kidney disease or diabetes can be associated with RLS.

Management and Coping Strategies:

1. Lifestyle Changes: Regular exercise, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, and maintaining good sleep hygiene can help.

2. Iron Supplementation: If iron deficiency is present, addressing it can improve symptoms.

3. Medications: As prescribed by your Doctor after consultation.

What Is Alzheimer’s? Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It’s more than just forgetting where you put your keys—it impacts daily life and relationships. Let’s spread awareness!

🔍 Facts to Share:

1. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia.

2. It’s not just an older person’s disease—early-onset Alzheimer’s can strike in your 40s or 50s.

3. Unfortunately, there’s currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, and it’s typically fatal within a decade of onset.

Early signs:
1. Memory Loss: Forgetting recently learned information or important dates/events. Relying more on memory aids or family members for tasks they used to handle independently.

2. Challenges in Planning or Problem-Solving: Difficulty following a plan, organizing tasks, or managing finances. Concentration may suffer, and tasks take longer than before.

3. Difficulty Completing Familiar Tasks: Struggling with daily activities like cooking, driving to familiar places, or remembering game rules.

4. Confusion with Time or Place: Losing track of dates, seasons, or the passage of time. Sometimes forgetting where they are or how they got there.

5. Visual and Spatial Issues: Trouble judging distance, reading, or recognizing colors. Vision changes may affect balance and driving.

6. Language Problems: Difficulty following conversations, stopping mid-sentence, or repeating themselves.

Remember, these signs don’t necessarily mean someone has Alzheimer’s, but if you notice them, consider seeking medical advice. Early intervention matters!

Let’s raise awareness, support caregivers, and work toward a world without Alzheimer’s. Together, we can make a difference!
