🦟 Dengue Fever in Kids – MUST KNOW Tips for Parents 🚨
Dengue cases are on the rise, and children are at higher risk of complications.
Here’s how to protect your child, manage fever safely, and spot danger signs early ⬇️
✅ DO’s:
• Hydrate with ORS, rice kanji, buttermilk, coconut water, plain water
• Use paracetamol (only as prescribed by your doctor)
• Tepid sponging with lukewarm water
• Rest at home – no school until recovery
• Watch for warning signs
❌ DON’Ts:
• No Meftal Spas or Ibuprofen (risk of bleeding)
• No papaya leaf juice (no proven benefit, can cause vomiting)
• No antibiotics unless advised by doctor
• Never ignore symptoms – dengue can worsen fast
🚨 Seek medical help immediately if your child has:
Severe abdominal pain, vomiting, extreme sleepiness, bleeding gums, black stools, widespread rash, breathing difficulty, or a drop in platelets with rising PCV.
