After 33 years of practise in ENT Such a Gratitude expressed by patients is heart touching and keeps me motivated !!!
" I got in touch with Dr. Vijay Jadhav around 20 years ago when I used to work as a Medical Representative in a pharma company. I met him for around 2 years and found him very humble, kind, patient-oriented (he prescribed and he still prescribes brands that are cost-effective and result-oriented). He is a thorough gentleman; he would talk about what is required and give his opinion if he has any. It was a professional relationship at that time.
During my work in pharma, my sister-in-law had chronic sinusitis and she was always given high doses of antibiotics by the doctors whomever she consulted. After a year, we consulted Dr. Jadhav and understood the reasoning for her chronic sinusitis. Dr. Jadhav operated on her and treated us like family members during our stay in the hospital. She has not faced any sneezing issues since then.
I was also facing similar symptoms (not to a high extent) while working in the field. I was prescribed anti-allergic medicines by the GPs and ENTs whom I knew through my profession. I used to feel drowsy and lethargic most of the time. It was one of the reasons that made me quit my profession. I consulted the health issues which I was facing with Dr. Vijay Jadhav. After a thorough examination, he suggested me to go for an operation. I had nasal septum surgery by him after a few days. During the operation, he said he would slice the bone from both sides so that I didn’t face any issues in the future. We had a wonderful stay at his hospital. Still, I remember when Dr. Jadhav sent homemade dal and rice in the evening. It was a pleasant surprise and so nice of him. I have sneezing now also, but it has never become aggravated that way it used to be earlier. I have almost stopped taking any anti-allergic medicines except during my asthma exacerbations.
I recommended his names to my known people who were facing ENT issues. They all were happy with the advice and treatment of Dr. Jadhav. I consulted him in between for my son’s runny nose (he had a runny nose for more than 2 years). He diagnosed it perfectly and prescribed absolutely the best treatment at that time also.
You may be thinking, why is he writing all this after so many years. I have read a book recently which mentions the “expression of gratitude and states we must express our gratitude. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is”. There are many reasons to express my gratefulness to Dr. Vijay Jadhav and it is a long story, but I will write it in minimum words. I will state the current one now. I had been suffering from asthma and bleeding from my mouth/lungs. I consulted 3 pulmonologists in Wockhardt and Kokilaban. They did my various tests – CT scan, Bronchoscopy, TB Test, Cancer test, Fungal test, etc., and prescribed me medicines regularly for a year. They diagnosed my ailments, such as lung scarring, phenotype asthma, etc. They were not able to diagnose the reason for bleeding and concluded that in 20% of patients the bleeding from the lungs cannot be determined.
I thought to consult Dr. Vijay Jadhav after a long time. He checked all reports and asked me to have a CT scan of the sinuses. To our surprise, my maxillary sinus was completely blocked. He said he cannot say the bleeding of the lungs is from the sinus but we must operate it and clean it. In between he said, he would recommend a lung specialist to have a fair evaluation.
I got operated on 18th March 2021. As usual, he was there in hospital at the time we reached i.e. by 7 am. He instructed nurses on what had to be done (I had to take a nebulizer before the operation). I got operated seamlessly. He was not able to remove all pus and infection through the microsurgery so he opened the sinus through my upper jaw. He operated meticulously for 2 hours and I did not feel an iota of fear. I knew I was in safe hands. The complication of hard pus and tissues was also well managed and removed
Now, expect the goodies, he created one more opening in the sinus to avoid any future issues, he also put a small bone into my upper side of the bone so that my nose looks straight. So Rhinoplasty was also done free of cost. Again the medicines were very cost-effective as I compared the prices of different brands (As a habit I check the prices of different brands) and found the prices were really low and all medicines were from reputed pharma companies. We MUST respect this concern towards patients. It has been around 2 weeks now and I have improved a lot. The mild bleeding and mucus have drastically stopped not only from my sinus (post-operation bleeding) but also from my lungs. (it seemed the earlier bleeding was from the sinus and not from the lungs, but it was wrongly attributed to lungs by lung specialists).
As a patient, you may feel, he is taking more time during the consultation. But, I observed he resolves the issues that time only and doesn’t keep calling patients unnecessarily and prescribing medicines continuously.
I wish he teaches his marvelous skills and humble behavior to new doctors or he should write the best practices for future doctors. I know he hardly gets time for himself and his family also. During this pandemic also, you would find him taking all precautions. For example, he wears a PPE kit, masks, hand gloves, his ENT head kit, etc. It shows he doesn’t want his patients to get infected at any cost.
I missed writing that I had vertigo also. It was resolved in 2 visits (diagnosis and treatment in the form of exercise).
I think it is rare to have such doctors. Mankind has been surviving because such doctors are there on the earth. He is not only a talented consultant, and gifted and accomplished surgeon, but also a wonderful human being. I am thankful to Dr. Vijay Jadhav for everything he has done to my family, my kith and kins, people whom I asked to take his advice and me. I will always be indebted to him. "
Warm Regards,
