Though I read numerous books in my lifetime, I never had a clear idea about how difficult writing 'one' can be!

Many a time, a pause would come after writing a few lines, for days, weeks, or even months. A multitude of thoughts and ideas would be born every minute, however they would dissipate by the time it reaches the tip of the pen. At times, I began to think it is impossible and I would never make it. Nevertheless, a headstrong attitude comes in handy when there is a sincere motive to demystify the potential of the life-saving science - homoeopathy - for the greater good of mankind.

It took more than 2 years for this book to take shape. Can you readers put in just 2 hours of effort for enjoying the fruits of it for a life time?

Who can read this book?
- Patients ( Primarily written for them)
- Practising Homoeopaths
- Students &
- Lovers of science

In the backdrop of rising covid-19 cases, I intend to advice you to take PHOSPHORUS as a potential preventive.
In case of viral exposure it may help cut short duration of infection and to prevent serious complications.
The remedy selected is based on the pathophysiology of covid-19 virus, haemostatic anomalies observed in viral infections and certain homoeopathic principles coupled with my personal experiences and observations. I intend to protect myself and my family in the same way.

*Dosage:* Phosphorus 200 single dose in pills form for 5 days. Should be repeated after 30 days till the pandemic is around.
P.S.: Patients having active tuberculosis should take above medicine in medical supervision only.

MELASMA/CHOLASMA
Melasma/Cholasma is also called as “ waang” in local cultures. It is blackish brown discoloration of skin due to excess melanin formation. More common in women but males too suffer not uncommonly. These patches are irregular in shape, may increase with time. The condition is more of a cosmetic problem that drives people to opd.

Causes:
• Mostly starts during pregnancy or starts after delivery including post-partum period
• History of taking birth control pills
• Liver problems
• Anaemia
• IDIOPATHIC( According to my experience in most of the cases the cause is unknown, there may be a family history as well as young unmarried girls are equally effected)

General management:
• Topical hydroquinone(2% is available over the counter)
• Tretinoins (should not be used in pregnancy)
• Chemical peels
• Sun blocks
In spite of rigorous treatment as above, patients come in my opd with relapse and in many cases it is worse than before…

Homoeopathic management:
• SEPIA: Cholasma from pregnancy, saddle across nose
• CAULOPHYLLUM: Pigmentation started after delivery as patient says
• LYCOPODIUM: If liver disease is the underlying cause
• BENZOIC ACID: copper coloured spots
• LACHESIS: Blackish discoloration
( N.B. : Homoeopathic prescription is totally individualistic and remedy chosen may be different from stated above.)

• Topical berberis aquefolium mother tincture works wonder and the hyper pigmented area becomes light in 4 to 6 weeks.

TIP:
Management of skin in summer: Many patients are confused about the choice of sunscreen lotion, I would like to state that sunscreen doesnt provide long lasting solution especially in india which is a tropical country so the points may be taken care of are as follows:
* Adequate hydration before stepping out in the sun
* Reducing surface area exposed directly to sunlight
* Using sunscreen with spf(sun protection factor) 30 which is ideal for India, but people can use higher spf if they stay long in the sun.
Wish you all HAPPY SUMMER,BE BRIGHT!!!
