Chingam 1 isn’t just a date on the calendar.
It’s the Sun stepping into Leo, the first page of a new Malayalam year, and the doorway to Onam’s season of giving. It’s also Farmers’ Day—a reminder that every festival meal begins with a quiet decision made in a field.
Monsoon used to arrive on cue; now it wanders. Ayurveda teaches ritucharya—to live with the season, not just the schedule. The monsoon is the best time for rejuvenation, yes—but when seasons shift, the wiser move is to read the sky, feel the soil, and listen to the body.
So, a few questions for today:
Who grew the food on your plate?
What will you return to the soil this year—a seed, a habit, a promise?
How can we heal ourselves and the land: buying closer to the farm, wasting less, choosing food that truly nourishes?
As Chingam begins, may we measure prosperity not only in what we harvest, but in what we care for—water, soil, farmers, and our own health.
Happy Chingam 1 & Farmers’ Day. 🌾🌿
