Job Title: Procurement Officer - Male Candidate
Reports to: Business & Public Relations Manager
Location: 60 Meter Road, Mamostayan Qr., Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq
Position Overview:
The Procurement Officer at MDC is responsible for sourcing and purchasing of medical and non-medical supplies, ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards. The role involves vendor management, negotiation, and compliance with procurement policies to support the center’s operational efficiency.
Responsibilities, Duties, and Accountabilities:
➢ Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and reliability.
➢ Obtain and analyze quotations from multiple vendors to ensure cost efficiency.
➢ Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms.
➢ Ensure timely procurement of medical supplies, equipment, and other operational needs.
➢ Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of key supplies to make informed purchasing
decisions.
➢ Develop and maintain a database of approved suppliers.
➢ Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
➢ Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, quality concerns, and payment discrepancies.
➢ Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
➢ Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
➢ Work closely with the finance department to ensure proper invoicing, budgeting, and payment
processes
➢ Collaborate with the inventory team to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
➢ Coordinate with different departments to assess procurement needs and priorities.
➢ Be part of creating a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, one of the Medical Sciences or a related field.
Experience:
Relevant past experience in a similar position and preferably in a healthcare setting
Language
● Fluency in written and oral Kurdish and Arabic
● English would be advantageous
Working Hours:
36 hours per week (6 hours per day, 6 days per week)

● Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and procurement software.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Experience with medical procurement and inventory management systems.
● Familiarity with international sourcing and import regulations.
● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
● Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
