It is raining "cats & dogs!" The English idiom "it is raining cats and dogs", used to describe particularly heavy rain, is of unknown etymology and is not necessarily related to the raining animals phenomenon. The phrase has been used at least since the 17th century. Not much fun! Emptying the flower pots each day so that they won´t drown! But what follows is the "Rainbow." 🙏💗☔️🌈🌞🕉

There is a hot tub in the garden, a perfect place to be all year & for 8 months you can see the Northern Lights from there when they are active. We are located above Hveragerði, a small friendly town 40 km from Reykjavík. Axelshus is our lovely home that has a very nice and comforting atmosphere. Perfect get-away from the busy and stressful life of the big cities. Your home away from home in Iceland. Natural holistic treatments available, Reiki, vibrational essences and aromatherapy products. Raw and vegetarian-vegan food also obtainable if required. You will find yourself surrounded by Unique natural phenomenons and a Geothermal park in walking distance away. Beautiful mountain and hiking trails in the nearby valleys that have hot streams to bathe in (Reykjadalur). Serene and beautiful forest trails in two locations nearby. Central to the Golden Circle and all other mayor attractions of the South-West corner of Iceland. Included in your stay is admission to our local 50 m swimming pool with hot tubs, massage machine and natural steam bath only 200 m away. Outdoor hot tub on site. A 9 hole golf course nearby. Icelandic horseback riding farms close by bookable from our site as well as car rentals and other tours and activities. Bus to and from Reykjavik runs every 2 hours.
