In extrusion, die head performance is defined by balance, pressure stability and the ability to maintain concentricity under steady-state and transient process conditions.
The die head geometry is designed to manage melt distribution progressively around the mandrel, avoiding abrupt flow separation and minimizing local velocity gradients. This controlled routing of the melt supports a uniform circumferential flow profile and reduces sensitivity to process variations such as temperature drift or throughput changes.
Flow recombination occurs in a controlled region, limiting internal stress generation and supporting stable surface formation at the die exit. This flow behavior contributes to consistent wall thickness and improved dimensional repeatability over long production runs.
The design allows precise mechanical concentricity adjustment between pin and bush, enabling fine correction of ID/OD alignment without disrupting the overall flow balance. This capability is critical when processing tight-tolerance medical tubing or materials with different rheological characteristics.
The die head can be configured for and medical tubing, with internal flow paths designed to maintain stable layer distribution and controlled residence time.
From a process engineering perspective, the focus is on maintaining stable pressure profiles, balanced melt velocity and repeatable thermal conditions — essential factors in medical extrusion where the process window is narrow and consistency is mandatory.

SPIRAL SMOOTHBORE (SURGICAL SMOKE EVACUATION SYSTEMS - NON INVASIVE VENTILATION) EXTRUSION LINES

Our extrusion lines are designed for the production of smoothbore spiral medical tubes with rigid or semi-rigid spirals, compatible with multiple polymers including PVC, EVA, PE, PP, Metallocene, and POP.

🛠️ Available with one or two extruders (TM35, TM 45 or TM 60 series), each line includes a stainless steel water tank with a dedicated drying system, featuring a closed-loop water circuit to avoid contamination (chiller as option).
⚡ High-speed cutting unit with discharge table is standard. Production speed: up to 10 m/min (multi-strands).

🔬 A dedicated version is available for surgical smoke evacuation systems, featuring in-line automation to create spiral tubing with a smooth internal surface and cuffed ends.
