The Comecer Scientific Bootcamp continues!

The final two days are fully hands-on, with students working in small groups inside real laboratory environments, turning theory into practice. Participants write chemical recipes using synthesis software, perform zinc electroplating for solid targets, prepare and purify solutions, and operate automatic injector systems (IRIS) and dose calibrators alongside Frans Wijmans from Comecer Netherlands. They also explore isolators, hot cells, and the calibration center.
A training experience designed to bridge the gap between education and real-world radiopharmaceutical production.

The Comecer Scientific Bootcamp has officially begun!
We opened with an inspiring talk, "Radioligand therapy from the patient’s perspective" by Rebecca Lo Bue from Oncidium foundation reminding us why this science truly matters.
We then continued with:
• "Radionuclide production with proton and electron accelerators" by Valeriia Starovoitova
• "Radionuclide production with nuclear reactors" by Andrew Burgoyne
• "From cyclotron to clinic: Astatine-211 in nuclear medicine" by Kohshin Washiyama
• "Hot cells environment and radiochemical purification" by Valery Radchenko and Mario Malinconico

It was a pleasure to host Rebecca Lo Bue, CEO of , at Comecer for a dedicated session focused on the human and clinical impact of cancer care.
During her talk, Rebecca shared powerful insights into the mission of the Oncidium Foundation, highlighting how passion, access to innovation, and education are essential drivers in the fight against cancer. Through patient stories and real-world experiences, she reminded us why technologies such as Radioligand Therapy matter - not only from a scientific or industrial perspective, but above all for the people whose lives depend on them.

Listening to Rebecca reinforced the connection between our daily work at Comecer and its ultimate purpose: bringing effective and accessible cancer treatments to patients worldwide.
