About me

Hi, I’m Laura. A warm welcome to my page!

I’m a fully qualified and insured massage therapist offering therapeutic and relaxation massage treatments in Totnes and South Devon area.

I trained at Exeter School of Bodywork and gained my Complete Bodyworker Diploma (Distinction), alongside my Swedish Massage Diploma and Anatomy and Physiology Diploma in 2017. I am full member of the Association of Physical and Natural Therapists (APNT) and a registered practitioner of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA), therefore I am bound by their code of ethics and professional guidance.

I am very passionate about what I do and I am committed to continue deepening my knowledge and skills through Continuous Professional Development (CPD), alongside cultivating my own self-awareness through the practice of yoga and meditation, in order to be a present and grounded therapist.

My mission: "When humans touch humans, it matters"

I believe each one of us have their own talent, their inner treasure that defines who they truly are and where they want to go. I’ve discovered that mine is connecting with others through empathy. Over the years I’ve looked for and explored different ways to express it. I spent several years studying other people’s languages and cultures and had the privilege to work with asylum seekers and migrants and to teach my native language.

In the past few years my personal journey through pregnancy and motherhood and the experience of living in a foreign country made me realise that there is yet another language that is able to allow us all to interact with each other at even a deeper level: TOUCH. Touch is so basic and universal, yet extremely powerful as it responds to one of our needs essential to our survival, something all our cells are dying for.

Massage therapy is often perceived as an “extra”, a luxury we rarely give ourselves. I think nothing could be further from the truth and that the reason kind, caring and skillful touch feels so luxurious is because nowadays it is unfortunately something so incredibly scarce.

Since I’ve become a massage therapist, I finally found out that the simple act of placing my hands on someone, is able to remind us the real reason why we are all here: TO TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. When humans touch humans, it matters.
