Biophysics&Biophotonics group

Biophysics&Biophotonics group The Biophysics and Biophotonics group at the Department of Physics at University of Milano-Bicocca consists of four faculty members.

Current research interests of the group include optical non-linear excitation microscopy, nanoparticles for biophysical and biomedical applications, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, in-vivo microscopy and optical nanoscopy. The group runs an University facility for non-linear optical microscopy and to this purpose it has collaborations with the Biotechnology, the Experimental Medicine and the Environmental Sciences Departments.

Thermal characterization of biological tissues can traditionally provide either large fields of view or high resolution. By the development of super-resolution infrared photo-thermal imaging, the authors reconstruct temperature-based maps of absorptive centers in millimeter-sized biological samples.
