Selfie with the Olympic flame 🔥
I almost missed it.

The Olympic flame passed through Modena today on its way to Milan. I’d seen the notice, realised it would be carried just 300 metres from our place, checked my calendar and thought, I can make that.
And then… I didn’t put it in my calendar.

I only realised I’d forgotten when friends started posting photos in our local WhatsApp group earlier today. Instant heartbreak. It was 10 minutes before the scheduled ending time, about 3.5 km away, and of course, roads were closed.

Then I paused.

I noticed I was assuming it was too late. That I’d already given up on what I wanted without actually knowing for sure.

The solution was obvious: bike.

It was around zero degrees, so I threw on a beanie, grabbed my husband’s gloves (huge, but warm, mine were nowhere to be found), and pedalled like mad to the finish point.

And… I made it.
Even a little early (this is Italy, after all, not Switzerland 😄), with time to find a good spot for photos.

Lesson: so many things we give up on, we give up on too early … based on assumptions, not reality.
Often, we can still have what we want, if we pause, refocus, and take the obvious action.

When you happen to own the land that you hold your retreats or festival on, then there’s a lot of tending to the land involved. It’s hard work, and I do have help, but laying hands and burying my sweat on it is part of our connection. 🍃

Two years ago, I held my first retreat with actual participants

(Three years ago I had launched one, but nobody signed up, so I did a “dry run” to trial it. Turned out to be a very useful experience.)

Last year, I ran the second edition of the retreat. And I ran the first edition of a Women’s Festival the week after.

(I may sound casual about it, but I was anything but. I only leaned into it because in February 2024 I realised I wasn’t launching this dream of mine because I was living in the illusion that I wasn’t ready yet. My coach asked me: “When do you think you’ll feel ready? Like, what needs to happen for you to feel ready?” That’s when I realised I never would. So I did it while feeling extremely vulnerable and unprepared. It was a success.)

This year, I ran the third edition of my retreat, am about to run the second edition of the festival, and am launching the first edition of my business momentum mastery program. The kickoff is two days before the festival starts.

If I look at this as a pattern, it kind of makes me wonder what’s going to happen next year!?!? 🧐🤪

When your intuitive work brings it all together: journaling under my favourite tree in paradise (that on top of it all I happen to own), my favourite dog, having coached three dream clients in the morning, done some admin on a group program that I’m co-leading, and spent a couple of hours at the beach with a thrilling book (the flight by Julie Clark). Later I’ll finish cleaning the summer kitchen for the guests of my upcoming retreat and cook dinner for my sister who’s arriving tonight and whom I can’t wait to see.
