I’m learning not everything needs to be shared in real time. Sometimes it’s better to just be fully in the moment.

I gave myself that space in South Africa, to experience it without thinking about how to capture it or post it, and I think that’s why it’s still sitting with me.

It was the pace, the stillness, the way everything felt so alive and grounding at the same time. The kind of trip that shifts your perspective and stays in your body long after you’ve left.

Sharing it now feels more meaningful than trying to keep up with it while I was there.

If you’re a new Pilates teacher, it can feel overwhelming and like you need to know everything right away.

More cues. More exercises. More complexity.

But the work has never been about doing more.

It’s about seeing more.

Learning to watch how someone moves, how they compensate, how they breathe, and letting that guide what you say and how you teach.

Clarity and simplicity will take you farther than complexity ever will.

The Pilates method already holds so much depth. When you take the time to understand the why behind it, the order, the transitions, the intention, your teaching starts to feel grounded in the body in front of you.

And over time, you realize the best teachers are the ones who never stop being students of the work. ✨

Thank you Kelly Puleio for capturing this practice so beautifully ✨ your eye for movement and detail brings it all to life.

Breath is one of the foundations of Pilates — and one of the things most people rarely think about.

So many of us move through the day breathing shallowly without even realizing it. When you start learning how to really expand through the diaphragm and let the breath guide your movement, everything begins to shift. How your body feels. How you move. Even how you carry yourself.

When you pay attention to where you’re holding tension and let the breath lead, the practice becomes much more intentional. More connected. You can feel the difference pretty quickly.

I’ve been struggling to find the words to describe my time in Africa. It was spiritual, meaningful, and so magical it almost feels impossible to bring home.

Every morning started before sunrise — climbing into the game drive jeep, breathing in air that somehow smelled of wild basil and sage, listening to birds, bugs, and animals I’d never encountered in my life.

What surprised me most was the feeling of connection. A deep, grounding presence that’s so rare in daily life. The closest thing I can compare it to is dancing — those moments when you’re completely absorbed, fully in your body, and overwhelmingly grateful to be alive.

Thank you to for creating something so profound. I know this trip will stay with me for a long time.

Since coming home, I keep thinking about how to hold onto that feeling. For me it comes back through movement, breathing deeply, getting outside, and paying attention to the small moments that make life feel rich. 🌿

Africa completely exceeded every expectation I had.

This trip was hosted by — whose lodges blend extraordinary wildlife experiences with a genuine commitment to conservation. Thirty percent of profits go directly toward that work. It makes the whole experience feel different.

We started at in Botswana. The hospitality, the guides, the food, the atmosphere — all of it felt thoughtful and warm. A magical introduction to safari life.

The helicopter transfer between lodges involved champagne and elephants. Completely over-the-top. No notes.

was one of the most extraordinary places I’ve ever stayed. Stunning design, enormous suites, and a private outdoor lounge where wildlife just… passed by.

We ended at in Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls at full power means you will get soaked. I will be warning future travelers about this.

Highlights: four leopards, lions, hippos, zebras — and one male lion sighting at Xigera that I’m still thinking about. Apparently, I’m also a birder now.

So much gratitude to and the incredible teams at each lodge. I’m already dreaming about going back.

If you’re interested in the small practices that help me feel my best both at home and while traveling, I’ll be sharing them in my Healthy Habits email series starting next week.

Movement while traveling isn’t about staying on a strict routine. It’s about coming back to your body. A quiet moment before the day begins. You move, breathe deeply, and suddenly, you feel more grounded for everything you’re about to experience.

On this trip, that looked like Pilates on the deck in the middle of the African bush. Not a bad studio for the day.

These kinds of small, intentional habits are something I think about often, and I’m beginning to share more of them in my Healthy Habits Challenge starting next week.

If you’d like to receive it, you can sign up through the link in my bio by Sunday to be included in the full series. I’ll be sharing the simple practices that help me feel my best at home and while traveling. 🌿

Cape Town has a way of pulling you in. Between the mountains and the ocean, it’s a city that actually has something for everyone.

A few moments from my time there:

✨ Walking through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens with Table Mountain rising behind us
✨ Boulders Beach — and the adorable penguins, completely unbothered, wandering along the sand
✨ A stop at the fabulous Oranjezicht Market full of local food and goods
✨ Coastal drives along the Cape Peninsula with the ocean stretching out in every direction
✨ A spontaneous picnic overlooking the water
✨ Watching the light settle over the coastline at the end of the day
✨ Exploring with fellow travel advisors — there’s something lovely about experiencing a place alongside people who see it the way you do.

Travel always reminds me how much the small habits we bring with us shape the way we experience a place — taking time to move, breathe, walk, and really notice where we are.

I’ll be sharing more about those kinds of habits and routines in my Healthy Habits Challenge starting next week. If you’d like to receive the full series, you can sign up through the link in my bio by Sunday. 🌿

I’ll also share more soon about where we stayed. The hotels were divine and deserve their own moment.

I keep thinking about when I can go back. 🤍

I recently returned from safari with , and I am blown away. SO much to share and say, but a few of my biggest takeaways:

✨Cape Town deserves more than just a couple of days before Safari. I am already planning to go back.
✨If you love traveling for wine like me, you absolutely must add the Winelands - Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to your itinerary.
✨There are many places to choose for a safari, but it’s hard to beat Botswana for it’s exclusivity. The wildlife viewing was unreal and the Okavango Delta is just stunning.
✨Traveling in low season, January - May is the best time to go. Less crowds and lower prices.
✨Africa is a bucket list trip but is worth doing it sooner than later. Don’t wait for the right moment, go now. You will thank me later!

If you are interested in planning a safari, I would be thrilled to design it with you. Send me a message over at - I can confidently say it will change your life 🌿

Behind every quiet moment of observation in Pilates, your teacher is going through a mental checklist:

✨Alignment
✨Flow
✨Connection & Engagement
✨Breathwork

We see everything 👀 But a good teacher gives cues that actually make your body feel different. Those small details are what change the way you move—and where Pilates really starts to work.

Curious what that feels like?

🤍 Pilates found me at a time in my life when I needed it most.

Starting something new can feel intimidating at first. It’s easy to believe you’re too late, too uncoordinated, or too far outside your comfort zone to begin.

But the truth is that Pilates meets you exactly where you are.

Over the years, this practice has completely transformed how I move, how I feel, and how I care for my body. It has given me strength, balance, and a sense of consistency that travels with me wherever I go.

Whether I’m at home or halfway across the world exploring a new destination, Pilates is the routine that keeps me grounded.

It’s never too late to start.
