Artificial intelligence is getting better and better at generating an image in response to a handful of words, with publicly available AI image generators such as DALL-E 2 and Stable Diffusion. Now, Meta researchers are taking AI a step further: they’re using it to concoct videos from a text prompt.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Facebook on Thursday about the research, called Make-A-Video, with a 20-second clip that compiled several text prompts that Meta researchers used and the resulting (very short) videos.

China’s yuan hovered near record lows against the US dollar on the offshore market on Thursday, as major currencies around the world continue to tumble after the Federal Reserve’s aggressive hikes.

The yuan — also known as the renminbi —has been declining for months despite interventions by China’s central bank.

The offshore yuan—which trades overseas—plunged to a record low of 7.2674 on Wednesday morning, before rebounding slightly later in the day, according to Refinitiv, which has data going back to 2010. On Thursday, it again slumped to 7.189 per dollar.

Apple has started making its new iPhone 14 in India, as the technology giant looks to diversify its supply chain away from China.

While the company manufactures the bulk of its products in China, it has decided to start producing its latest devices in India much earlier than with previous generations.

The company unveiled its new iPhone three weeks ago. The latest devices offer updated camera systems, a new interactive lock screen and on Pro models, much faster performance. The company also introduced new safety features, such as car-crash detection technology and an Emergency SOS tool.
