Last January the second edition of Mediterranean Forum on Interventional Oncology was a great success. 243 delegates (+ 105%) from 15 mediterranean countries joined us in Rome for the MIO-Live project: 16 hours of scientific education, 4 Honorary Lectures, 2 Lunch Symposium, and 15 live-cases treating both primary and secondary liver tumors (1 PEI – 5 RFA/MWA - 1 combined treatments – 4 TACE – 1 chemoinfusion –1 TARE workup - 2 TARE)
The mission of MIOLive is to serve the needs of each individual patient, offering them the opportunity to receive a tailored treatment by helping the community to share knowledge, experience, and practice.
All Live Cases, treatment indication, selection, and planning were discussed during “Interactive Multidisciplinary Treatment Decision” Sessions. All partecipants were able to actively discuss treatment strategies guided by the mixed-specialty panel, having the opportunity to be part of a big “Tumor-Board Multidisciplinary Meeting”, together with leading experts
