Rest doesn’t always come from stillness or sleep…

Our minds and bodies need a couple of types of rest to feel fully healed and rested.

Physical rest → break from activity, and sleep

Mental rest → less stimulation, meditation, time away from screens

Emotional rest → a safe space to feel all your feelings without performing, or censoring yourself

Creative rest → focusing on creative expression to give your logical brain time to recover

Our bodies were never designed to operate in the same way every day…

We all (and especially women!) have so much to contend with, and our energy fluctuates hugely depending on time of day, time of year, and where we are in our cycle.

These patterns aren’t flaws to fix - they can help us navigate how and when we move our bodies.

When we start responding to our body, everything begins to feel more sustainable, and therefore consistency becomes achievable - because suddenly it’s not the daily workout we’re consistent with, it’s honouring our natural rhythms we’re consistent with.

Everything changes when we reframe inconsistency as intuition ✨

We often try to change how we feel by changing the internal

What we eat, how we’re moving… but our bodies are also constantly responding to something much quieter: environment.

Our nervous system is always on alert for sights, sounds, smells, sensations, all in the name of protecting us, but it can overwhelm our nervous system.

There’s a lot to process, and sometimes a chaotic and cluttered environment creates a chaotic and cluttered feeling internal world!

It’s so important for us to pause, and think about what our body responds to in our environment (and to do this regularly, as it can fluctuate)

Do we need to step outside into natural light, soften our space (lighting, sound, texture), or even just go somewhere completely different?!
