"Our 'special thing', recognised for millennia as the home and destination of truth", now faces a challenge: how can art and thought "once again speak to everyone, in a world where the word appears fragmented, abandoned, emptied of its generative power"?

From reflections by the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the Emma Dante to insights from Tomaso Binga, from riveting conversations with directors Tsai Ming-liang and Gabriele Mainetti to an newly rediscovered interview with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the Paulo Mendes da Rocha, ALFABETI / ALPHABETS invites us to reimagine the word as both an artistic and political tool – one that bridges the languages of the contemporary scene and prompts us to "rethink our being-in-the-world".

The 10th edition of the has come to a close!
DESERT PALMS (Italy) – director Tristan Seniuk, producer John Gerard – is the project that will be presented in the section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.

The additional two projects that participated in the final phase of the programme, MYSTIS (director Tatiana Collet Apraxine, producer Ruth Mariner) and PRIMER PLANO (director Giulia Jiménez Tani, producer Stefania Chehade) will be invited to the , organised by the , together with the other nine projects selected for the international workshop held in Venice in January 2026.

" " is the spark that drives the 20th International Festival of Contemporary Dance, inspired by physicist Carlo Rovelli's vision of time, and set to transform Venice into "a sanctuary of the imaginary and the possible – timeless". From 17 July to 1 August 2026, more than 140 artists – "secret quantum experts" – will invite "us to feel a sense of wonder and curiosity about the nature of reality", between live performances, , workshops, and conversations.

Fino al 20 settembre, presso il Museo Le Carceri di Asiago, è possibile visitare la mostra “Un racconto della Biennale Arte in 100 manifesti dall’Archivio Storico della Biennale di Venezia”. Un viaggio visivo tra simboli, luoghi iconici, influenze Art Noveau e progetti di figure centrali del design internazionale, l’esposizione propone una selezione di manifesti originali e copie anastatiche della , dalla prima edizione del 1895 alla .

“I 100 manifesti esposti in ordine cronologico – spiega Debora Rossi – ci consentono di ripercorrere le edizioni storiche dell’Esposizione, offrendo anche molteplici percorsi di lettura e approfondimento. La storia di questi manifesti, oltre a rappresentare un percorso significativo nel gusto della grafica lungo un secolo - dal Liberty fra Ottocento e Novecento fino alla moderna grafica-design - testimonia anche, nei primi anni, il profondo legame tra l’Istituzione e la città di Venezia sin dalla prima Esposizione internazionale d’arte del 1895.”

"But do we still possess the ability to produce the Useful and the Beautiful, combining form and function? And in which fields can the applied arts – by engaging with ancient models – create objects that unite tradition and innovation, beauty and sustainability, craftsmanship and algorithms?": these are the questions at the heart of issue 4/25 of the , entirely dedicated to the theme of the Applied Arts.
With contributions ranging from Brendan Cormier to Elizabeth Diller, from Julian Schnabel to Bjarke Ingels, as well as director Virgilio Villoresi, APPLICAZIONI / APPLICATIONS examines the close interaction between design and society, craftsmanship and industry, material culture and digital culture, highlighting how, "even in the future, a natural harmony can still be found between the ability to give form to Beauty and Beauty's vocation to become, in itself, art".

"In a world that seems to get more divisive, controlling and violent, our challenge as theatre makers is to avoid the corruption of theatre solely as a commercial enterprise dedicated to the entertainment by distraction or as the institutional dry preserver of traditions, but rather to foster its strength to connect peoples, communities, cultures and above all to question where we are going.
