📚 Every Day is a School Day 🌿

Today’s golden nugget came from an incredible lecture with Mr. N. Madipola at Jersey General Hospital on the latest updates in endometriosis.

One fascinating insight I learned:
Sometimes infertility in endo patients isn't due to blocked fallopian tubes—but because the o***y is adhered to the posterior vaginal wall. This anatomical shift can prevent the o***y from reaching behind the uterus to “present” the egg to the opposite fallopian tube, where the fimbriae (those little finger-like structures) would usually scoop it up during ovulation.

💥 Takeaway? Endometriosis is complex and affects far more than just pelvic pain. Hormone mx is needed for the condition and physio, psychology and pain clinic is needed for pain management.

So grateful to keep learning and bringing this knowledge into my clinical practice 💪🏽

🚨 Morning Coffee & Bladder Urgency?
Do you rush to the loo not long after your first sip of coffee? You’re not alone—and there’s a reason. Caffeine acts as a bladder stimulant and can irritate the bladder lining, increasing urgency and frequency.

👩‍⚕️ As a pelvic health physiotherapist, I see this all the time—especially in people already managing urgency or overactive bladder. The good news? Small tweaks (like a caffeine audit ☕🔍) can make a huge difference.

💡 You don’t necessarily need to give it up—but awareness is power. Tune into your bladder cues and see if your brew is helping... or hindering.

So many women think leaking is just something you live with… but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m a local pelvic physio based in Jersey, and I see this every day.
If this sounds like you — let’s change that 👇

At age 43 I’m becoming very aware that what I do now will impact my experience through menopause. The more I learn the better equipped I will be. Wise Power by & Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer lay out a framework for understanding, not a map or a recipe but an interesting discovery into death and rebirth during menopause 😱😬 but ultimately for calmness ☯️ and love ❤️ 💕

Introducing Dr Hannah Gough, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Gough and I share a passion… support for women during life transitions: menarche, matrescence; menopause. We both see women struggling physically and emotionally and in some cases needlessly. A little knowledge and information can go a long way in ameliorating the challenges we experience through these transitions. We are on a mission to help …

Starting the day with a postnatal Pilates exercise class!
As the instructor I come away feeling blissful 🤍- I hope my mum’s feel that way too 😊

The benefits of exercise in the postnatal / postpartum period are well documented:

- exercise helps strengthen and tone abdominal muscles.
- exercise boosts energy.
- exercise may help prevent postpartum depression.
- exercise promotes better sleep.
- exercise relieves stress.
- exercise can help you lose the extra weight that you may have gained during pregnancy.
- exercise makes you feel good 😊

But did you know that you are more likely to exercise if you exercise in a group rather than by yourself at home? Whilst there are limitations to what you can get out and do as a new mum if you can make it to a class for exercise it will do you wonders - you time - support - someone to help answer your questions!
