Chronic pain can be prevented—yet this opportunity is not being seized. Prevention in this context means identifying and addressing the modifiable risk factors that increase the likelihood of acute pain becoming chronic and disabling. These include low physical activity, poor sleep, stress and depression, fear of pain, lack of workplace support, and limited access to timely care.

Having witnessed firsthand the profound impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment journey has on patients and their loved ones, I'm proud to participate in Race for Life this year.
What makes this event even more meaningful is that my great friend Donna, a dedicated cancer advocate, will be starting the race. Her strength and commitment to this cause inspire me every day.
While medical science has made remarkable strides in cancer treatment, there remains so much more work to be done. Every donation supports vital research that brings us closer to better treatments, earlier detection, and ultimately, more survivors celebrating more birthdays.
