STEM Racing Primary sign-ups are still open! 🏎️

We’re almost ready to hit the track, and primary schools can still join in before the 9th January. STEM Racing gives pupils aged 9-11 the chance to design, build, and race their own mini F1 cars using simple classroom materials.

Why schools are getting involved:
- It brings real engineering skills into the classroom
- Students learn by testing, trying, and improving
- Teamwork becomes a huge part of the fun
- It sparks early interest in tech and problem-solving

Each school gets a Design Resource Kit and access to clear online guides to help students get race-ready. It all leads up to the Jersey Primary Regional Event on 27th February 2026.

This week, student teams hit the track at our STEM Racing Open Track sessions, testing their speeds and measuring their reaction times ahead of the Jersey Regionals in December.

The sessions explored how small changes in design and setup could make a big difference on the track. It was fantastic to see so much energy, teamwork, and creativity in action, exactly what STEM Racing is all about.

“Our island stands at a pivotal moment in the AI revolution”

We’re proud to launch the newly formed Jersey AI Council, a collaborative body bringing together experts from government, industry and regulators to coordinate and accelerate the responsible use of AI across the island.

The Council will focus on raising awareness, enabling adoption, sharing expertise and driving delivery across all sectors. The aim is to ensure AI benefits Jersey’s economy and wider community.

“We believe we can achieve substantially more if we work together – and this is something that comes out strongly from our work on AI to date.” – Tony Moretta, CEO of Digital Jersey & Chair of the Jersey AI Council

The Jersey AI Council is one of the key recommendations of the forthcoming ‘AI Playbook’ for Jersey, led by Digital Jersey with input from global experts including Professor Alan Brown and Dame Wendy Hall.
