Please note that taxi drivers typically hand in items left behind in their vehicles to the Police Station. If you have booked a taxi via the JERSEY TAXIAPP and left something in that vehicle you would have received an automated email at the time of booking giving you the details of the driver who accepted the job... this includes the drivers name and contact number. Welcome to the 'JTDA Lost & Found' page...Where we hope to reunite you with your lost property.

This page is run by the Jersey Taxi Drivers Association (JTDA) and was launched to help those who may have lost or found property in a Taxi. Please go to the menu and check both the ‘HOME’ page and the ‘POSTS’ page to either place a visitors post if you have ‘Lost or Found’ something or just to read any new messages.

Please follow the instructions below and post the details of any lost items onto 'VISITORS POST', the same also goes for any taxi/cab driver who has found property left in their vehicle. The driver does not have to be a JTDA member to post a message.

INSTRUCTIONS... Go to the menu on the left side of the home page and click on 'POSTS', then leave your message on 'VISITORS POST' and then click the 'ENTER' button to post your message. It is also very important to click on 'Like' and 'Follow' to reach a larger audience and to get further notifications about lost or found property.

When writing about a lost or found item on 'Visitor posts' please include-

1. Description of Item or photo if possible.

2. Time and date property lost or found.

3. Travelling from and to...(Either booked, hailed or from a taxi rank).

4. Driver and vehicle description if possible.

5. Contact Name & Number or Email address.

Please do not give the numbers and account details of lost credit/debit cards.

We hope this page helps reunite you with any lost items, thankfully most people are honest enough to hand something to the driver if they find something after getting into a taxi, and the driver in turn usually hands it into the Police Station, so please also try there. (SoJP Tel: 01534 612612.)

If the driver has still got the item and contacts you please arrange a convenient time and place to pick up your property as the taxi/cab drivers shouldn’t be expected to drive miles out of their way to return it. T&Cs. This page has been set up to help recover lost property left in taxi/cabs only. Any other notifications, personal comments or adverts will be removed by the administrators and could lead to a total ban from posting anything on this page if the comments are found to be derogartory. The JTDA is under no obligation to find any lost property left in taxi/cabs or to give compensation if property is not recovered.

You can also rest assured that when you get into a public rank taxi you will be charged a controlled fare, as tariffs charged are set by the States of Jersey Department for Infrastructure (DfI) and this applies to all public rank taxis. The meters are also sealed to make them tamper proof by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Department (DVS). Please note that Private Hire cabs companies can set their own tariffs and charges, so you could find yourself paying up to 27% more...So why pay more!
