Are you a Psychotherapist or Counsellor working in Jersey with adults or children over 11 looking for a supervisor? Perhaps you want to consider a different perspective, a new way of reflecting on your work and developing your practice.
I am currently in training with Terapia.co.uk on their UKCP approved Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision and I am seeking therapists seeking a supervisor. I am also available to work with agencies and support their counsellors.
If you would like to meet and explore how we might work together please DM me or take a look at my website for more details about me.

A determination to challenge myself at the end of this year saw me joining a gym. And as often happens when I experience new, this led me to consider something I had not expected - why we feel the need to define perfection

In this blog the much debated question of how you measure effectiveness and value in therapy is considered. As clients we invest time, money and ourselves in the sessions so it seems only right that we should look to assess whether the therapy is working. So how can we tell?
We seem to live in a world where everything must be measured. Our children are tested to destruction and so are their teachers. ...

The Quiet Room is a Therapy practice, specialising in working with both adults and children.
I began my journey to Therapy and Counselling in the early 1990's when I found a passion for the Psychoanalysis of Literature. I continued down this path for an MA in the Critical Theory of Literature before finally fulfilling a dream to study Psychology, securing a BSc (Hons) in 2010. I now found myself at the start of something, rather than the end, and was fortunate to be able to study Psychotherapy over a four year programme in Jersey and France. Now, some 20 years after those first steps, and after more study with the European Centre for Psychotherapeutic Studies to support children, I now work with both adults and children, couples and families.
In addition I teach on a range of degrees and professional Counselling training courses that have Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling at their hearts. For University College Jersey I lecture on the Psychology with Criminology degree which launched in 2017 and Child Development for the Childhood Studies degree. I also lectured on the Psychology of Physical Activity for the Sport & Management degree . Professional training includes CPCAB Counselling Courses, Level 4, sharing my love of this empowering vocation with students keen to find their own path as Counsellors.
In addition I have undertaken training with Zoe Lodrick and New Pathways to enable me to work with survivors of sexual abuse. This training was provided by Jersey Action Against R**e (JAAR) and I continue to volunteer as a therapist and counsellor for JAAR.
I adhere to the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the European Institute for Psychotherapeutic Studies which is compatible with the codes of ethics and professional practice of UKCP and UKEATC, EIATCYP,EAGT, EAIP and EUROCPS Codes of Ethics.
In addition to a degree in Psychology I also hold a Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, Level 7.
