On Monday 27 June 2022, the OHP team have been granted permission by Parish of St Helier to carry out a topographical at the junction of The Parade and Gloucester Street between 15:00 and 20:00.

Following some concerns about discussions on social media, Islanders can be reassured that there is no intention to cut the number of mental health bed numbers in the new hospital. It is not true that mental health beds are being decreased. In fact, the number of mental health acute admission beds available will be increased by 2 (from 28 currently provided in Orchard House and Cedar ward to 30 beds in the new hospital).

The current 12 beds on Beech ward, which provide care for older people with dementia or organic mental health needs, will remain at Rosewood House and will also be increasing to 16 beds when the current refurbishment programme is completed, due to continued increasing demand for these beds.

It is important that current service users and their families are reassured that detailed planning for mental health services is taking place as part of the Our Hospital project.
