Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) is a common skin condition that appears as small, dark or skin-coloured bumps — typically on the face, neck, and upper body.
While some individuals develop only a few, others may notice multiple bumps over time. DPN most commonly affects people of African and Asian descent and often runs in families. It is frequently associated with ageing, although other factors may contribute.
After treatment, a small scab may form and fall off within one to two weeks. The skin may appear slightly lighter or darker at first, but it generally returns to its normal tone as it heals.
