Opened in the Spring of 2014, Bikram Yoga Jamaica will establish the first Bikram Yoga studio in the Caribbean. Our vision is to bring this healing practice to the region, beginning with Jamaica, and to share it as widely as possible with locals and tourists alike. By providing elite yoga technique and training in this unique yoga style, Bikram Yoga Jamaica sets itself apart from all other yoga studios in the area. About Bikram Yoga
Yoga is an ancient discipline that explores, develops, and integrates the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga systematically stretches and strengthens muscles throughout the body, increases circulation to internal organs and glands, quiets the nervous system, and improves concentration. This ancient system of self-care brings vitality, health, deep relaxation, and peace of mind. Bikram Yoga, also known as "hot yoga", is a specific type of yoga developed by Bikram Choudhury. Classes are held in a hot, humid room (105o F) allowing the student to safely work deep into the muscles, tendons, and ligaments while releasing toxins and congestion from the body. It was developed by Bikram Choudhury (disciple of Bishnu Ghosh who was brother of Paramahansa Yogananda ), a national yoga champion of India as a child. Bikram Yoga Jamaica will be the first Bikram Yoga studio in the Caribbean. Yoga is a growing trend. It was popular in the seventies and has come back full force into vogue in the 21st century as an effective and proven form of exercise. Movie stars such as Madonna, Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, and Sting are advocates of the discipline and many athletes credit yoga for improvement in their career, for example, Andy Murray, David Beckham and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The key to success within the yoga business is the quality of the instructor. Bikram Yoga Jamaica will focus on presenting our Yoga Center as the perfect place to learn yoga skills that will improve the student physically and reduce the daily stress of the work world. There may be other yoga studios in the area, but will not be able to match the level of instruction and the custom-designed facilities required for maintaining the environment for “hot” yoga.

Sweat is more than a sign of effort — it’s your body’s way of releasing what no longer serves you.

Each drop is a reminder that transformation isn’t always graceful… sometimes it’s messy, raw, and beautifully human.

In the heat, your body opens. Your mind softens. And all the tension, stress, and emotion you’ve been carrying begins to move — and finally, to leave.

So when you step into the room, remember:
you’re not just working your body —
you’re clearing space for something new to grow. 🌿

Our hearts are with everyone across Jamaica — especially those in the parishes most affected by Hurricane Melissa. We’ve seen incredible strength, unity, and care in our communities these past days. 🇯🇲🙏🏽

As we reopen this weekend, we do so with deep gratitude — for safety, for resilience, and for the chance to move and heal together again.

Let’s use our practice to keep our spirits lifted, our bodies grounded, and our hearts open. The storm may have tested us, but it also reminded us how strong we are — inside and out. 🔥
