Today is recognized as World AIDS Day and in its honour, we have reduced the cost of our HIV test to $1000 plus the cost of the visit for today only.

HIV affects more than 32000 Jamaicans or 1.7 % of persons in age group 16-49.
More than half of these persons do not know their status.
There is no cure for HIV but treatment options have come a far way to enable persons to live full healthy lives.
If you have any risky s*xual behaviors like multiple s*x partners, poor condom etc, you should be tested at least every 6 months.

Hypertension is defined in 2023 as systolic > 130 and diastolic > 80.
Black persons tend to have organ complications at lower blood pressures than white counterparts, especially kidney injury.
For this reason it is recommended to
➡️Screen for hypertension in all persons > 18 years old
➡️Yearly screening for persons >40 with no history of hypertension
➡️Prevent the development of hypertension through dietary modification and exercise
➡️Commence anti-hypertensive meds if BPs are > 140/90
Hypertension is a silent killer; there are no symptoms until it’s already late.
