World Health Organization Jordan

World Health Organization Jordan Since 1985 WHO Jordan has been at the forefront of a number of different health initiatives and projects.

The WHO Representative’s Office in Jordan supports the Government and health authorities at central and local level in strengthening health services, addressing public health issues and supporting and promoting research for health. Physicians, public health specialists, scientists, social scientists and epidemiologists provide appropriate technical support and collaboration upon the request or acceptance of national authorities. As the lead health agency, WHO works with many partners to support countries in reaching their national health development goals and to ensure that its efforts are coordinated. Across the Region, these include United Nations agencies, humanitarian and development partners, donors, nongovernmental organizations, WHO collaborating centres and the private sector. For 27 years it has garnered scientific evidence, promoted global strategies for eradication, elimination or prevention, and identified potential outbreaks. WHO provides technical support to the Ministry of Health in Jordan to:

*support appropriate evidence-based national health policies, strategies and plans

*strengthen national human resources development, planning, production and utilization

*enhance knowledge transfer and management, institutionalization of mortality and morbidity systems

*develop a fair sustainable health financing system covering all of the population
support health promotion, disease prevention activities

*strengthen national emergency-preparedness plans and strategies. Though challenges still remain, WHO has become a well-established and successful health entity, striving to improve governmental health policy and promoting universal health care in Jordan.

يُعد تعزيز قوى عاملة قوية في مجال الصحة الواحدة في الأردن عنصرًا أساسيًا لبناء أنظمة قادرة على الوقاية من التهديدات الصحية والكشف عنها والاستجابة لها.

عقدت مجموعة العمل الوطنية لتطوير القوى العاملة ورشة عمل حول أداة التشغيل الثلاثية لتطوير القوى العاملة (WFD OT)، بدعم من مستويات منظمة الصحة العالمية الثلاثة، وبالتعاون مع نقاط الاتصال في الصحة الواحدة من وزارة الصحة ووزارة الزراعة ووزارة البيئة.

وجمعت الورشة خبراء وتقنيين من شركاء وطنيين ووكالات الأمم المتحدة، لدعم نهج منسق ومتعدد القطاعات لتطوير قوى عاملة ديناميكية وجاهزة في إطار الصحة الواحدة في الأردن.

Strengthening Jordan’s One Health workforce is key to building resilient systems that can prevent, detect, and respond to health threats.

The national Workforce Development Technical Working Group convened for a workshop on the Tripartite Workforce Development Operational Tool (WFD OT), facilitated by WHO across all three levels, in collaboration with One Health focal points from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Environment.

The workshop brought together technical experts from national partners and UN agencies to support a coordinated, multisectoral approach to developing a dynamic and prepared One Health workforce in Jordan.
