👁️ Fun fact: Did you know that your eyes keep growing? A newborn’s eye is about 16-17mm in axial length , but by adulthood, it reaches around 24mm! Amazing how our eyes adapt and develop as we grow. 👶➡️👩‍🦱

As an eye care professional, I'm committed to raising awareness about the growing concern of myopia, especially in children. Myopia, or nearsightedness, is more than just needing glasses—it's a progressive condition that can lead to serious eye health risks if not managed early.

Fortunately, there are effective strategies to slow down myopia progression, including specialized glasses and contact lenses, atropine eye drops, and crucial lifestyle changes like increased outdoor time.

Let’s work together to protect our children's vision and future. Knowledge is the first step to prevention.



‎**سبتمبر هو شهر التوعية بقصر النظر!** 🌍👁️

‎بصفتي طبيبة عيون أطفال، ألتزم بنشر الوعي حول القلق المتزايد بشأن قصر النظر، خاصةً لدى الأطفال. قصر النظر ليس مجرد الحاجة إلى النظارات—بل هو حالة يمكن أن تؤدي إلى مخاطر صحية خطيرة على العين إذا لم يتم التعامل معها مبكرًا.

‎لحسن الحظ، هناك استراتيجيات فعالة لإبطاء تقدم قصر النظر، بما في ذلك النظارات والعدسات اللاصقة المتخصصة، وقطرات العين "الأتروبين"، وتغييرات نمط الحياة المهمة مثل زيادة الوقت في الهواء الطلق.

‎دعونا نعمل معًا لحماية رؤية أطفالنا ومستقبلهم. المعرفة هي الخطوة الأولى للوقاية.

سُعدت كثيراً بتمثيلي بلدي الأردن و جامعتي جامعة العلوم و التكنولوجيا الأردنية في لجنة امتحان المجلس العربي للاختصاصات الصحية مع نخبة من أساتذة طب العيون في العالم العربي، في مدينة القاهرة و على ضفاف نهر النيل العظيم.
كما سعدت كثيراً بجولةٍ سريعة استرقناها على هامش الامتحان مع الزملاء الرائعين الى الجامع الأزهر الشريف و خان الخليلي .
كل الشكر لجميع المساهمين و القائمين على الامتحان، و شكراً لمصر 🙏🏻

‎متى فحصت عيون طفلك آخر مرة؟ 😃🤓🤩👀🌸
‎يجب فحص عيون الاطفال دورياً و عدم الانتظار لحين ظهور أية أعراض، لأن الطفل غالبا سيشكو من ضعف النظر في عمر بعد ال ٦ سنوات، و هو العمر الذي سيصبح علاج الكسل البصري - إن وجد-صعباً بعده 😔

‎‏ Children's eyes should be checked periodically and not wait for any symptoms to appear, because the child will often complain of poor vision at the age after 6 years, which is the age after which the treatment of a lazy eye - if present - will become difficult.😔
